Job summary

HAVI Logistics (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Health Safety and Environment Manager to oversee SHES programmes across warehouses, transport, office and related operations in Malaysia. You will lead inspections, risk controls and incident investigations while ensuring regulatory compliance.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, SHO/DOSH preferred, and at least 5 years’ SHE/EHS experience in logistics or manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Health, Engineering, Science or related discipline; SHO/DOSH competency preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant SHE/EHS experience in logistics/warehousing/transport/manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of occupational safety, health, environmental and security management.
• Experience in HIRARC, incident investigation and root cause analysis.
• Applicable regulatory/ISO standards knowledge (ISO 45001, 14001) is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Oversee implementation and improvement of Safety, Health, Environment and Security programmes across warehouse, transport, office and supporting operations.
• Conduct routine workplace inspections of warehouses, loading bays, truck yards, MHE activities and facilities.
• Lead development and monitoring of HIRARC, safe work practices and risk controls.
• Coordinate Traffic Management Plan, pedestrian segregation, MHE safety and loading/unloading safety.
• Lead or support accident/incident investigations including CAPA and verification.
• Monitor SHE performance metrics and regulatory compliance across sites.
• Develop, maintain and review SHE policies, SOPs and emergency procedures.
• Plan safety inductions, toolbox talks, training and competency programs.
• Coordinate emergency preparedness, evacuations and crisis management exercises.
• Monitor environmental compliance and waste/chemical management initiatives.
• Coordinate internal/external SHE audits and closure of findings.
• Oversee site security operations, access control and CCTV management.
• Prepare monthly SHES KPI reports and improvement plans.
• Collaborate with multiple departments to strengthen safety culture.
• Support regional SHES initiatives and other duties as required.

Job description

Oversee implementation and continuous improvement of Safety, Health, Environment and Security programmes across warehouse, transport, office and supporting operations.

Conduct and coordinate routine workplace inspections covering warehouses, loading bays, truck yards, MHE activities, facilities and other operational areas.

Lead the development, review and monitoring of HIRARC, safe work practices and operational risk controls.

Coordinate and monitor the Traffic Management Plan, pedestrian segregation, MHE safety, vehicle movement and loading/unloading safety.

Lead or support investigation of accidents, incidents, near misses and security incidents, including root cause analysis, CAPA and effectiveness verification.

Monitor SHE performance including LTI, LTIF, TRCF, vehicle accidents, near misses, unsafe acts and unsafe conditions.

Ensure compliance with applicable Malaysian occupational safety, health and environmental legal requirements, licences and permits.

Support implementation and maintenance of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, SMETA and relevant corporate/customer requirements.

Develop, review and maintain SHE policies, SOPs, risk assessments, emergency procedures and related documentation.

Plan and conduct safety induction, toolbox briefings, awareness programmes and competency training for employees, contractors and transporters.

Coordinate emergency preparedness activities including evacuation drills, fire response, chemical spill response, first aid and other emergency scenarios.

Monitor environmental compliance including scheduled waste, chemical management, spill prevention and environmental improvement initiatives.

Coordinate internal/external SHE audits, regulatory inspections and ensure timely closure of findings and corrective actions.

Oversee site security operations, including guard force performance, guard house activities, access control, visitor management, perimeter security and security patrols.

Monitor CCTV effectiveness, restricted-area access, security incidents, theft prevention, product protection and asset security controls.

Coordinate and review outsourced security provider performance, manpower deployment, response effectiveness and compliance with site requirements.

Conduct or coordinate security risk assessments and implement preventive controls for unauthorized access, theft, product security and other identified threats.

Ensure security records such as visitor logs, incident reports, access records and CCTV inspection records are properly maintained.

Prepare monthly SHES KPI reports, trend analysis, management updates and improvement plans.

Work closely with Warehouse, Transport, Maintenance, HR, QA and other departments to strengthen safety culture and security awareness.

Support the QA Manager in regional/corporate SHES initiatives and other assignments as required.

Qualification

Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Health, Engineering, Science or related discipline. SHO/DOSH competency or other recognized SHE certification is preferred. Knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and SMETA is an advantage.

Minimum 5 years of relevant SHE/EHS experience, preferably within logistics, warehousing, transportation, manufacturing or FMCG, with exposure to security management. Supervisory or management experience is preferred.
