HAVI Logistics (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Safety, Health and Environment Executive to implement and monitor EHSS policies across our warehousing and transport operations.
You will identify hazards, perform risk assessments, and coordinate corrective actions with cross-functional teams to ensure a safe working environment for all staff and third-party partners.
Implement and monitor HAVI EHSS policies, procedures, standards and programs.
Conduct routine workplace safety inspections and walkthroughs covering warehouse, loading/unloading areas, yard, offices, plant rooms and other operational areas.
Identify unsafe conditions and unsafe behaviors and coordinate timely corrective actions with responsible departments.
Support the development, review and maintenance of HIRARC and other task-specific risk assessments.
Ensure risk assessments are reviewed following incidents, process changes, introduction of new equipment, changes in workplace conditions or other significant operational changes.
Monitor compliance with PPE, pedestrian safety, MHE safety, dock safety, working-at-height, electrical safety, chemical safety and other applicable controls.
Support ergonomic, industrial hygiene and occupational health risk-management activities where applicable.
B. Transport & Road Safety
Support implementation and monitoring of transportation and road-safety requirements for HAVI and third-party transporter operations.
Conduct or coordinate delivery safety observations and driver safety compliance checks.
Monitor compliance with driver safety requirements including valid licenses, vehicle-related regulatory requirements, fit-to-drive requirements, fatigue controls and applicable training.
Support investigation of road accidents, vehicle incidents and transport-related near misses.
Coordinate corrective and preventive actions arising from transport incidents and safety observations.
Work with Transport and third-party transporters to improve driver safety behavior and reduce preventable incidents.
Coordinate timely reporting, investigation and documentation of workplace accidents, incidents, near misses, dangerous occurrences and property-damage events.
Participate in root-cause analysis using appropriate investigation methodologies.
Ensure corrective and preventive actions are assigned, monitored and followed through to closure.
Maintain incident and near-miss records and analyze trends to identify recurring or systemic risks.
Escalate serious incidents to Management in accordance with HAVI escalation requirements.
Support statutory notification and reporting to relevant authorities where legally required.
Promote proactive near-miss and hazard reporting across the organization.
D. Legal, Regulatory & Licensing Compliance
Maintain and periodically review the EHSS legal and regulatory register applicable to HAVI operations.
Monitor changes in Malaysian occupational safety, environmental, transport and other applicable EHSS legislation and communicate relevant requirements to affected departments.
Coordinate and monitor renewal of applicable EHSS licenses, permits, registrations, inspections and statutory certificates.
Maintain an EHSS licensing and statutory compliance tracker with responsible PICs and expiry dates.
Liaise with relevant government authorities and competent persons/service providers as required.
Support regulatory inspections and ensure findings are addressed within agreed timelines.
Maintain relevant regulatory records and evidence for audit and inspection purposes.
Support implementation of HAVI environmental requirements and programs.
Monitor environmental aspects associated with waste, scheduled waste, chemical handling, energy, water, refrigerants, fuel and other relevant activities.
Support maintenance of environmental legal and compliance requirements.
Coordinate with Facility and other departments on environmental monitoring and improvement activities.
Support investigation and corrective action for spills, leaks or other environmental incidents.
F. Training & Safety Culture
Identify EHSS training needs based on legal requirements, risk assessments, incidents, audits and operational changes.
Coordinate EHSS induction, refresher training, toolbox sessions and awareness programs.
Support competency verification for safety-critical activities where applicable.
Maintain or verify EHSS training records and monitor training completion.
Promote positive safety behaviors and employee participation in hazard and near-miss reporting.
Support safety campaigns, awareness programs and continuous-improvement initiatives.
G. EHSS Performance Monitoring & Reporting
Maintain and analyze EHSS KPI including accidents, incidents, near misses, unsafe conditions, training completion, inspections and CAPA status.
Prepare periodic EHSS performance reports and dashboards for Management review.
Monitor recurring findings and identify areas requiring preventive or systemic action.
Track action plans to ensure timely closure and effectiveness.
Participate in Safety Committee, management and operational meetings as required.
Support annual EHSS objectives, targets and improvement programs.
Skills:
Good knowledge of occupational safety and health principles and Malaysian regulatory requirements.
Knowledge of warehouse, logistics and transportation safety risks.
Competent in hazard identification, risk assessment and risk-control principles.
Ability to conduct safety inspections, audits and incident investigations.
Good root-cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
Good understanding of emergency preparedness and response.
Knowledge of contractor safety and permit-to-work controls.
Ability to analyze EHSS data and prepare reports, dashboards and action plans.
Good communication, presentation and employee-engagement skills.
Ability to communicate safety requirements firmly and professionally across different organizational levels.
Good documentation and record-management skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Knowledge of ISO 45001 and SMETA requirements is an advantage.
Qualifications & Experience:
Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Health, Engineering, Science, or other relevant discipline. SHO/OSH Coordinator certification or other DOSH-recognized competency is an advantage.
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Occupational Safety, Health & Environment, preferably within logistics, warehousing, transportation, manufacturing, or FMCG operations.
