Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. in Malaysia (Penang region) seeks a Diploma-trained technician to operate, monitor and maintain manufacturing equipment to meet production goals.

You will perform preventive maintenance, inspections, setup support, and participate in CAPA and continuous improvement initiatives. Required is a diploma in engineering or related field, basic knowledge of mechanical/electrical systems, strong troubleshooting and teamwork skills, and willingness to work in a shift environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance (PM) activities according to established schedules.
• Conduct equipment inspections and health checks to identify potential issues before failures occur.
• Assist in equipment setup, qualification, conversion, and recovery activities.
• Troubleshoot equipment-related issues and perform corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Escalate complex equipment issues to engineers when required.
• Support implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Ensure equipment operates within specification and meets quality requirements.
• Support engineering activities, trials, and qualifications.
• Assist in collecting and analyzing equipment data for process improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and equipment records.
• Participate in equipment improvement projects to enhance reliability, productivity, and cost effectiveness.
• Support implementation of new tools, processes, and best practices.
• Contribute ideas for continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence programs.
• Adhere to all safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
• Follow SOPs, work instructions, and cleanroom protocols.
• Maintain a safe working environment and report potential risks or hazards.
• Basic proficiency in AI and digital tools for data analysis, troubleshooting, reporting, and process improvement.
• Experience using AI-assisted productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Power BI) is an added advantage.
