Job summary

Micron Technology in Penang, Malaysia, is seeking a maintenance technician to troubleshoot electro-mechanical manufacturing equipment. The role requires a Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical/Electronic Engineering and hands-on experience with semiconductor testing equipment is preferred.

You will join a team focused on uptime, PMs, and equipment ramp-up support. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, with familiarity in data analysis, programming, or AI applications

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher in mechanical or electrical/electronic engineering.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills; teamwork oriented.
• Familiarity with manufacturing systems, data analysis, programming or AI applications is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot non-functioning electro-mechanical equipment on the manufacturing line.
• Dismantle, adjust, repair and assemble equipment per layouts, blueprints, manuals.
• Use test/diagnostic equipment to perform checkouts and support ramp-up.
• Maintain equipment uptime with hands-on troubleshooting.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance as planned.
• Set up, buy-off, and convert equipment as required.
• Manage spare parts, tools and meters.

Responsibilities

Performs electrical or mechanical troubleshooting to determine problems in non-functioning electro-mechanical equipment used in the manufacturing process

Dismantles, adjusts, repairs and assembles equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, rough sketches or drawings

• Uses test and diagnostic equipment to perform checkouts.
• Rebuilds manufacturing equipment as required
• May perform equipment modifications as directed by engineers.
• Responsible for Test equipment transfer, setup and buyoff, and support for manufacturing ramp up
• Responsible for sustain equipment uptime, with hand on trouble shooting on the equipment
• Perform and complete the scheduled PM as per plan
• Perform equipment setup, buyoff, and conversion
• Work on spare part/tools/meters management

Requirements

• Diploma in mechanical engineering & Electronic/Electrical Engineering
• Highly motivated individuals with more than1 year working experience are encouraged to apply!
• Good understanding of Semiconductor Testing equipment processes. In-depth knowledge & hands on experience will be a plus point.
• A good teammate equipped with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Familiarity with manufacturing systems, data analysis, programming, or Artificial Intelligenceapplications is a plus.
• Experience using Generative AI,AI Assistant, or other AI-Enabledtools is preferred.
