Job summary

Coherent Malaysia is seeking an experienced engineering leader to maintain and improve tooling for die attach, wire bonders, welders, ovens and testers at the Ipoh site. You will lead a team of technicians, drive cost reductions, set up new equipment, and ensure facilities support for new lines.

Collaborate with process and production engineers to enhance yield and UPH while complying with ISO standards. Familiarity with fiber-optic/laser products and ability to read schematics and mechanical

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electronic / Electrical / Mechatronic/ Electromechanical) or equivalent.
• Experience in networking, test process or product transfer.
• Familiar with product development processes and releasing products to production.
• Able to read electronic schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Experience with fiber-optic/laser products.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for equipment maintenance and improvements for die attach bonders, wire bonders, welders, ovens, testers, etc.
• Responsible to lead a group of technicians.
• Identify, lead and implement cost reduction activities.
• Responsible in preparing & perform new equipment set-up and buy-off.
• Ensure proper facilities are available for new equipment set-up.
• Liaise with equipment vendor to improve tool capability.
• Provide feedback on equipment and material issues/make recommendations and offer solutions to ensure new products meet requirements.
• Work with process engineers in preparing and updating process documentations and work instructions for assembly line process and equipment.
• Work with production team in improving yield & UPH of the assigned processes, including cost reduction activities.
• Compliance to ISO Requirements, company rules & regulations, applicable codes etc
• Derive Continual Improvement
• Practice Risk Base Thinking in planning and execution of task
• Direct operations involvement and hands on skills on equipment's.

REQUIREMENTS

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Professional Degree or Master's Degree in Engineering – Electronic, Electrical, Mechatronic/Electromechanical), Computer/Telecommunication or equivalent.
• Relevant working experience in networking, test process or product transfer.
• Familiar with product development process & proven success of releasing products to production.
• Understand basic test methodologies and able to interpret/read electronic schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Experience working with fiber-optic/laser products.
