Job Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled and proactive Equipment Maintenance and Spare Parts Engineer to join our Engineering Department. In addition to managing spare parts, this role requires expertise in determining life cycle, mean time before failure (MTBF), and usage analysis of spare parts. The engineer will also be responsible for studying pre-mature failures, collecting data for overall usage and budget analysis, seeking comparable replacement parts, and proactively addressing discontinued or obsolete parts.

Responsibilities

Spare Parts Management

Efficiently manage the spare parts inventory, ensuring proper organization, storage, and distribution.

Collaborate with procurement to source high-quality spare parts from reliable suppliers.

Life Cycle Assessment

Determine the life cycle of critical spare parts, considering factors such as wear and tear, technology advancements, and equipment upgrades.

MTBF Analysis

Calculate Mean Time Before Failure (MTBF) for key components and utilize the data to optimize maintenance schedules.

Usage Analysis

Conduct usage analysis to understand patterns and trends in spare part consumption.

Identify areas for optimization and efficiency improvement in spare parts usage.

Failure Study

Investigate pre-mature failures, collect data to analyze root causes and implement corrective actions.

Budget Analysis

Collaborate with finance and engineering teams to analyze overall spare parts usage and budget allocation.

Propose cost-saving measures without compromising quality and reliability.

Replacement Parts Search

Continuously search for comparable replacement parts to ensure the availability of alternatives in case of discontinued or obsolete items.

Obsolete Parts Management

Proactively identify and address obsolete parts, working closely with suppliers and engineering teams to find suitable alternatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.

Experience in spare parts management and analysis within an engineering or manufacturing environment.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make strategic recommendations.

Good knowledge of life cycle assessment, MTBF calculation, and usage analysis.

Familiarity with budget management and cost optimization strategies is an added advantage.

Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.

Proficiency in using relevant software applications for data analysis.
