Job summary

Flex is seeking an Equipment Maintenance Engineer to support our Senai, Johor operations. The role involves troubleshooting, performing preventive maintenance, calibrations, and assisting with installation and removal of process equipment to ensure precision and uptime.

Qualified candidates typically hold an associate degree or military technical training with about 4 years of related experience, and will work across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or computerized systems at Flex

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot machine malfunctions and isolate failure mechanisms.
• Repair failures in a cost-efficient manner.
• Perform preventive maintenance at scheduled intervals.
• Perform calibrations and re-qualifications on equipment.
• Assist engineers with installation/removal of process equipment.
• Maintain equipment records and logs.
• Provide daily equipment performance updates.
• Set up testing and calibration of laboratory equipment.
• Disassemble and inspect components for defects.
• Support 24-hour coverage by organising teams or individuals.

Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Equipment Maintenance Engineer located inSenai, Johor.

Responsibilities

• Through troubleshooting, identifies machine malfunctions and isolates the failure mechanism.
• Repairs the failure mechanism in the most cost-effective manner.
• Performs preventive maintenance at specified intervals and schedules.
• Performs calibrations and re-qualifications on equipment at specified intervals and schedules.
• Assists process technicians and engineers with the installation and removal of process equipment.
• Researches and implements corrective action reports and process tracking mechanisms.
• Records times and problems in equipment logs.
• Provides daily equipment functioning activity information.
• Sets up standard and special purpose laboratory equipment to test, evaluate and calibrate other instruments and test equipment.
• Disassembles instruments and equipment and inspects components for defects.
• Aligns repairs, replaces, and balances component parts and circuitry.
• Devises formulas to solve problems in measurements and calibrations.
• Assists engineers in formulating test, calibration, repair and evaluation plans and procedures to maintain precision accuracy of measuring, recording, and indicating instruments and equipment.
• May require travel to other Flex sites or equipment vendors' locations.
• Highest level may perform both software and hardware maintenance.

Specialized Job

• Allocating work to a team of fitters.
• Checking and calibrating instruments to make sure they are accurate.
• Fitting new parts.
• Carrying out quality inspections.
• Acknowledging immediately to equipment breakdowns.
• Fixing faults on site or arranging for replacement machinery or equipment to be installed.
• Keeping production managers informed of progress.
• Organizing teams or unipersonal to make sure that 24-hour cover is available.
• Working on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic or computerized systems.
