Job summary

Randstad Malaysia's client seeks a Technical Pre-Sales Engineer to support enterprise customers across networking, security, data centre and cloud solutions in Penang.

You will translate business needs into technology, design solutions, and assist through RFI/RFP processes, demonstrations and PoC activities. Strong communication and vendor coordination are essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in networking, security, infrastructure or technical pre-sales.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise networking technologies, particularly LAN, WAN, wireless and data centre networking.
• Experience with Cisco, Aruba, Huawei or similar technologies is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and network security is an advantage.
• Understanding of public/private cloud architecture and end-to-end solution integration.
• Relevant certifications from Cisco, Huawei or HPE will be an added advantage.
• Strong technical, communication, presentation and proposal-writing skills.
• Comfortable engaging with customers, vendors and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical pre-sales support covering networking, security, software-defined networking and data centre network virtualisation.
• Design and position solutions across Routing & Switching, Wireless, WAN, Collaboration and Network Security.
• Work with technologies from leading networking vendors such as Cisco, Aruba and Huawei.
• Understand customer infrastructure, identify technical requirements and recommend suitable solutions or alternatives.
• Support RFI/RFQ/RFP and bidding activities, including solution architecture, BOM preparation, quotations, technical proposals and solution validation.
• Coordinate with vendors, principals and internal teams on technical requirements and solution design.
• Conduct customer presentations, technical workshops, demonstrations and Proof of Concept (PoC) activities.
• Develop end-to-end solutions incorporating networking, security, cloud and managed services where appropriate.
• Build strong relationships with customers and act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the sales process.
• Support solution integration and ensure proposed solutions align with the customer's current and future technology environment.
