Job summary

SoftwareOne is seeking an Enterprise Architect to lead modernization across General Insurance and Motor Insurance platforms, translating business vision into scalable, cloud-ready architectures that enable digital insurance experiences.

You will guide cross-functional teams, shape roadmaps, govern standards, and ensure secure, modular design across policy administration, claims, underwriting, billing, and customer journeys.

Qualifications

• Certified Enterprise Architect with leadership experience.
• Deep knowledge of General and Motor Insurance processes and systems.
• Ability to design enterprise-grade, cloud-native architectures.
• Strong communication to explain complex concepts to business.

Responsibilities

• Shape and govern modernization roadmaps across insurance platforms.
• Direct architectural decisions for API, data, cloud, and security standards.
• Translate business vision into capability roadmaps and assessments.
• Design future-state architectures for policy, claims, underwriting, billing, and engagement.
• Define transition states and sequencing for multi-phase programs.
• Lead governance forums and publish modernization guidelines.

You will join a cross‑functional transformation group driving modernization across core General Insurance and Motor Insurance capabilities. The team works closely with business leaders, product owners, delivery squads and engineering leads to build secure, modular and cloud‑ready systems.

As the Enterprise Architect, you will define, guide, and govern the modernization of legacy platforms into a future‑state architecture that supports digital insurance experiences, regulatory readiness, and scalable product operations. Your leadership ensures alignment across teams, clarity in architectural direction, and consistent use of standards that support a unified enterprise ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

• Shape and govern the enterprise‑wide modernization roadmap, including modularization, cloud‑readiness, and service‑oriented design.
• Provide architectural direction to multiple delivery squads, ensuring alignment on API, data, cloud, integration, and security standards.
• Translate business vision into architectural roadmaps through capability modelling, value‑stream alignment, and structured assessments.
• Design future‑state architectures covering policy administration, claims, underwriting, billing, and customer engagement journeys.
• Define transition states, coexistence approaches, and sequencing to support multi‑phase modernization programs.
• Lead architecture governance forums and produce clear architectural decisions, reference models, and modernization guidelines for delivery teams.

Job Requirements

• Certified Enterprise Architect (TOGAF or equivalent) with practical architecture leadership experience.
• Deep understanding of General Insurance and Motor Insurance processes, systems, and industry context.
• Ability to design enterprise‑grade architectures using cloud‑native, API‑led, and modular patterns.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to explain complex architecture concepts in a simple, business‑relevant way.
• Familiarity with architecture frameworks and modelling tools (e.g., ArchiMate, Sparx EA).
• It is nice if have a knowledge of Malaysian insurance regulatory requirements (BNM, ISM).
