We are currently seeking a IT Strategy Architect to join our team in Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur (MY-14), Malaysia (MY).
IT Strategy Architect
The IT Strategy Architect will be responsible for defining, governing, and driving enterprise technology strategy across the insurance organization. This role requires deep experience in cloud transformation, digital modernization, data platforms, security architecture, and regulatory compliance specific to the insurance sector. The architect will collaborate with senior leadership, business units (Claims, Underwriting, Actuarial, Customer Platforms), and technology teams to ensure IT investments align with business outcomes, operational resilience, and long-term strategic goals.
Enterprise Architecture & Strategy
- Develop and maintain the enterprise IT strategy, technology roadmap, and architecture blueprints.
- Align IT initiatives with insurance business priorities such as claims automation, underwriting modernization, digital customer experience, and regulatory compliance.
- Define target architectures for cloud, data, integration, security, and application modernization.
Cloud & Digital Transformation
- Lead cloud adoption strategy across AWS, OCI, and hybrid environments.
- Define modernization approaches for legacy insurance systems (policy admin, claims, billing).
- Evaluate emerging technologies (AI/ML, RPA, low-code platforms) for business value.
Governance & Compliance
- Establish architecture governance frameworks, standards, and review processes.
- Ensure compliance with insurance regulatory requirements (auditability, data residency, cybersecurity).
- Define policies for data governance, API management, and security architecture.
Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership
- Partner with C-suite, business leaders, and product owners to translate business strategy into technology execution.
- Provide architectural guidance to engineering teams and lead cross‑functional design workshops.
- Communicate complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
Risk Management & Resilience
- Identify technology risks, dependencies, and gaps in current architecture.
- Define strategies for disaster recovery, business continuity, and operational resilience.
- Ensure architectures support scalability, performance, and security.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Evaluate new technologies and industry trends relevant to insurance.
- Drive continuous improvement in architecture practices, tooling, and governance.
- Mentor architects and senior engineers.
Architecture & Design
- Strong experience with enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman).
- Expertise in designing cloud-native, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
- Deep understanding of insurance core systems (policy admin, claims, underwriting, actuarial).
Cloud & Integration
- Hands‑on knowledge of AWS, OCI, Azure, and hybrid cloud patterns.
- Experience with API gateways, ESB, event streaming (Kafka), and integration platforms.
Data & Analytics
- Knowledge of data governance, data quality, lineage, and regulatory reporting.
- Experience with data platforms (Snowflake, Redshift, OCI Autonomous Data Warehouse).
Security & Compliance
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001).
- Experience with IAM, encryption, network segmentation, and audit controls.
Non‑Technical Requirements
- Excellent communication and executive‑level presentation skills.
- Strong leadership, influencing, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with practical execution.
- High integrity, ownership, and business acumen.

- TOGAF 9 / TOGAF Enterprise Architecture Certification
- AWS Solutions Architect - Professional
- OCI Architect Professional
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- Insurance sector strongly values this.
- Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
- ITIL 4 Managing Professional
- SAFe Architect / SAFe Agilist (enterprise transformation)
- PMP or PRINCE2 (governance & delivery alignment)
- Ability to lead enterprise-wide transformation initiatives.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving mindset.
- Proactive in identifying strategic opportunities and risks.
