Inter Island Group Pte Ltd. seeks an Engineering Leader to guide a multi-discipline team across process engineering, tooling, and NPI in a manufacturing setting.
The role emphasizes project execution, quality standard adherence, and cross-functional collaboration with Production, QA, and BD to drive yield and continuous improvement.
Engineering Leadership & Team Management: Lead, mentor, and build a high-performing engineering team across process engineering, tooling, and new product implementation (NPI).
Project & Resource Execution: Manage engineering project timelines, resource allocations, and operational budgets to ensure timely implementation and yield targets.
Process Optimization & Troubleshooting: Drive root-cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives for plastic injection molding, rubber compression/transfer, and surface coating/spray painting operations.
Quality & Automotive Standards: Oversee APQP implementation—including key quality core tools (PPAP, Control Plans, PFMEA)—to meet strict Tier 1 automotive and consumer electronics standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Production, Quality Assurance, and Business Development teams to resolve technical roadblocks, eliminate bottlenecks, and manage multi-variant manufacturing runs.
Performance Management: Establish KPI targets, track engineering deliverables, deliver structured feedback, and cultivate talent within the department.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Material Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline.
Experience: 4 to 7+ years of progressive engineering leadership in Plastic Injection, Silicone Rubber, or Surface Coating / Spray Painting manufacturing.
Quality Core Tools Mastery: Hands-on experience with PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and APQP.
Technical Expertise: Demonstrated capability in process troubleshooting, mold/tooling design analysis, and multi-component assembly (Plastic/Rubber/Glass integration).
Soft Skills: Exceptional people management, conflict resolution, analytical problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
Languages: Business fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia. (Mandarin proficiency is an added advantage to coordinate with global partners/suppliers).
