Job summary

Mywisehome Sdn Bhd in Malaysia seeks a Group General Manager to lead cross-border manufacturing operations and drive performance across Malaysia and China teams.

The role requires a proven track record in full P&L ownership, overseas factory leadership, and Mandarin fluency to coordinate R&D, engineering, supply chain, and procurement, with a strong focus on lean manufacturing, cost optimization, and governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering / Manufacturing / Management.
• Minimum 10 years of manufacturing management experience.
• At least 5-8 years in group-level operational leadership.
• Overseas factory management experience preferred (Malaysia/Southeast Asia).
• Full P&L responsibility and ability to manage end-to-end operations.

Responsibilities

• Take accountability for overall group business performance including revenue, cost, profit, and cash flow.
• Formulate annual business plans and budgets with tracking mechanisms.
• Own key KPIs and establish a Group Command System with governance and reviews.
• Oversee Malaysia plant operations: production, quality, EHS, equipment, and supply chain.
• Drive lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and cost optimization.
• Coordinate with China teams on R&D, tooling, and documentation; ensure alignment.
• Lead procurement, CAPEX evaluation, ROI analysis, and budget approvals.
• Rebuild leadership structure and strengthen core functional roles.
• Engage with key clients and external stakeholders on quality, delivery, and cost.

Key Responsibilities – Group General Manager

1) Group Business & Organizational Management (Core Responsibility)

Take full accountability for overall group business performance: Revenue / Cost / Profit / Cash Flow

Formulate annual business plans and budgets; establish weekly/monthly/quarterly tracking and review mechanisms

Own key operational KPIs: order fulfillment, scrap rate, OEE, labor productivity, inventory turnover, procurement cost, etc.

Lead the establishment of a structured Group Command System: governance framework, processes, authority matrix, performance evaluation, rewards & disciplinary mechanisms

2) Cross-Border Manufacturing Operations (Malaysia as Core Production Base)

Oversee full operational management of the Malaysia plant: production, quality, EHS, equipment, supply chain, finance, etc.

Drive lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and cost structure optimization

Establish a robust delivery system to ensure on-time, in-full, high-quality shipments to key customers

3) China Team Management (R&D / Engineering / Supply Chain Support)

Lead China-based teams covering R&D, process engineering, tooling, sampling, and project introduction systems

Ensure alignment and consistency between China and Malaysia in drawings, technical standards, processes, and documentation

Take accountability for critical project milestones (NPI, samples, certifications, mass production ramp-up)

Establish a strict "Budget - Approval - Review" governance mechanism to prevent uncontrolled spending

Implement cost and procurement control systems to ensure all expenditures align with business objectives

Lead major procurement and CAPEX evaluation processes with clear ROI assessment mechanisms

5) Talent & Performance Management

Rebuild leadership structure, including appointment, development, and elimination mechanisms

Strengthen key functional roles: Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, HR, etc.

Implement a cross-border performance management system (KPI/OKR) to ensure closed-loop execution

6) Key Clients & External Stakeholder Management (Essential Capability)

Engage in senior-level communication with key customers and partners to resolve issues related to quality, delivery, cost, and complaints

Manage external relationships including government authorities, industrial parks, and local communities (particularly critical in Malaysia)

Job Requirements

1) Education Background

Bachelor's degree or above (Engineering / Manufacturing / Management-related majors preferred)

2) Mandatory Experience Requirements (All Must Be Met)

Minimum 10 years of manufacturing management experience

Preferably in plastics, injection molding, rubber & plastics, or chemical-related industries

At least 5-8 years of group-level operational leadership experience

Experience as Group General Manager / COO / Business Unit Head level

Proven overseas factory management experience

Malaysia / Southeast Asia experience highly preferred

Capable of managing overseas manufacturing plants while coordinating with China-based R&D and supply chain teams

Full P&L responsibility experience

Must have owned and managed full Profit & Loss

Not limited to production management only

3) Industry Preference

Plastic production / Injection molding / Rubber & plastics export manufacturing

Chemical-related products or FMCG manufacturing (e.g., daily chemical, fragrance products) with high EHS and compliance requirements

Export-oriented manufacturing companies handling multiple SKUs, multiple customers, and multiple concurrent projects
