Job summary

Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur is seeking an energetic and multi-skilled Engineering Manager. You will oversee daily engineering operations, develop preventive maintenance, and lead a skilled team to ensure reliable hotel infrastructure.

Ideal candidates have 5–7 years in hotel engineering with 2–3 years in a supervisory role, strong M&E knowledge, and a proven track record in project management and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Engineering required.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Budgeting, cost control, and inventory management experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily engineering operations and ensure maintenance work orders are completed and recorded.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programmes for M&E systems and facilities.
• Lead and manage the Engineering team, including performance management and training.
• Monitor operation of all plant, equipment and building systems for efficiency.
• Support energy conservation initiatives and monitor utility consumption.
• Plan and execute special projects, repairs and improvements as assigned.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and environmental standards.
• Lead Fire & Life Safety programmes, inspections, and emergency preparedness.
• Coordinate emergency response procedures and act as ERT leader when required.
