Job summary

Mandarin Oriental in Kuala Lumpur seeks an Assistant Chief Engineer responsible for maintaining hotel equipment to ensure minimal downtime. The role includes managing quality control, supervising staff training in safety protocols, and ensuring readiness for audits.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Building Maintenance and at least 5 years of relevant experience. Benefits include training programs, health and wellness offerings, and attractive stay rates for staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of working experience as Duty Engineer; hotel experience would be an advantage.
• Ability to analyze any malfunction of all mechanical equipment used in the hotel.
• Ability to write routine reports, keep logs and correspondence.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the hotel is ready for any statutory and mandatory audits/inspections.
• Delegate, create, prepare and implement the QC/QA plan.
• Supervise, train and instruct colleagues in Food Safety & Hygiene.
• Identify training needs and ensure training plans are created.
• Keep costs at a minimum while maintaining hotel standards.
