Job summary

Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur is seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer to join our Engineering team. Based at the hotel, this role focuses on maintaining equipment with minimal downtime and supporting day-to-day engineering operations.

You will lead fire safety compliance, audits, and quality assurance programs, supervise technical staff, and work with the Training Manager to identify and deliver development plans.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years working experience as Duty Engineer; hotel experience an advantage.
• Bachelor Degree in Electrical/Building Maintenance required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure hotel readiness for statutory audits and inspections (fire department, MOTAC, FLHSS, etc.).
• Attend fire safety training and uphold fire, life safety rules.
• Develop and manage QC/QA plans and related directives for quality results.
• Supervise, train, and instruct colleagues in Food Safety, Hygiene and Occupational Health & Safety.
