To lead and oversee the Engineering and R&D teams, ensuring the achievement of business objectives through effective management and monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs).
Accuracy of Bill of Materials (B.O.M).
Accuracy of drawings database.
Build orders cost monitoring including foreign exchange fluctuations, component pricing and other cost variables, while identifying variances and implementing appropriate cost-optimisation measures.
R&D:
Lead pilot projects with clear milestone tracking
Component tryout and assessment.
Project liaison with OEM manufacturer.
Subject-matter expert for all new product initiatives.
To ensure job orders and projects are executed efficiently, with minimal operational disruption and optimal cost management, while supporting the Company's strategic direction and maintaining its competitiveness, future readiness, and alignment with market trends.
To lead in Engineering and R&D operation:
Enforce compliance of engineering job agreed timelines and quality standards.
Management of engineering changes (design review, approval and changes justification).
Oversee prototype testing, commissioning, and performance validation.
Alternative sourcing of suitable material, components and qualified vendors (review of specification and test results).
Establishment of database/information to enable a proper keep track and future development (drawings, post mortem & kickoff meeting).
To lead in team management:
Performance review & skill gap analysis on team members.
Identify training needs and coordinate development programs.
Resource allocation for team to meet project goal.
Define, validate & monitor team milestones, actions, and objectives.
To oversee matters on business alignment and cost control:
Cost estimation & quarterly costing, sheet preparation and review.
Collaborate with principals on design decisions and strategic priorities.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronic Engineering.
Minimum 5 years working experience within a manufacturing environment, including proven experience in managerial role.
