We are looking for an experienced and technically strong Engineering Manager to lead and manage the engineering team in the development, improvement, and manufacturing of our products. The Engineering Manager will oversee engineering projects from product concept and design through to production, ensuring that products meet customer requirements, quality standards, cost targets, and delivery schedules.
The Engineering Manager will work closely with the Product Engineer, production, quality, purchasing, sales, and management teams to ensure smooth execution of engineering and manufacturing activities. The successful candidate should have strong leadership, problem-solving, project management, and technical skills, with practical experience in Stainless Steel, Aluminum fabrication, Die-Casting, or similar manufacturing environments.
Lead, manage, and provide technical guidance to the engineering team, including Product Engineers and other engineering personnel.
Plan, coordinate, and monitor engineering projects from product development and design through to production.
Review and approve product designs, engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing processes.
Work closely with the Product Engineer to develop new products and improve existing products based on customer requirements.
Evaluate product feasibility, materials, manufacturing processes, tooling, production costs, and project timelines.
Ensure engineering designs are practical, cost-effective, manufacturable, and compliant with customer and company requirements.
Develop and improve manufacturing processes for Stainless Steel, Aluminum, Die-Casting, and other related products.
Provide technical solutions and troubleshooting support for production, quality, tooling, and manufacturing issues.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for engineering and production-related problems.
Coordinate with Production, Quality Control, Purchasing, Sales, and other departments to ensure successful project implementation.
Liaise with customers and suppliers on technical matters, product specifications, engineering requirements, and improvement projects.
Review customer drawings, specifications, and technical requirements and provide appropriate engineering solutions.
Monitor project progress, engineering changes, production readiness, and ensure projects are completed according to agreed timelines.
Identify opportunities for product, process, quality, and cost improvements.
Ensure engineering documentation, drawings, specifications, BOMs, and revision controls are properly maintained.
Establish and maintain engineering standards, procedures, and best practices.
Perform other engineering and management duties as assigned by the Management
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Manufacturing
Engineering, or a related engineering field.
Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably with experience in a manufacturing environment.
Previous experience in Stainless Steel, Aluminum fabrication, Die-Casting, or similar manufacturing industries is highly preferred.
Proven experience in managing, supervising, or leading an engineering team.
Strong knowledge of product development, engineering design, manufacturing processes, and production methods
Good knowledge of CAD, AutoCAD, CAM, and other relevant engineering/design software.
Proficiency in Mandarin, as the role requires regular communication with Mandarin-speaking clients, suppliers, and stakeholders.
Candidate able to work at Bertam, Penang.
