Job summary

CHEC CONSTRUCTION (M) SDN BHD invites applications for an Electrical Technician to perform routine inspection, testing and maintenance of railway power distribution lines, substations and electrical equipment within the assigned maintenance area. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

The role requires basic knowledge of power distribution, safe working practices, good communication in English and Bahasa Malaysia, and a willingness to learn.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply; internship or industrial training in electrical systems is advantageous.
• Basic knowledge of high/low voltage power distribution and electrical equipment; understanding of electrical installation, testing and fault diagnosis.
• Familiarity with electrical safety procedures and safe working practices; ability to respond calmly during faults or emergencies.
• Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine inspection, testing and maintenance of railway power distribution lines, substations and related electrical equipment in the assigned area.
• Assist in preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure safe and reliable railway power supply systems.
• Identify, report and help rectify faults in electrical equipment per maintenance standards.
• Record maintenance activities accurately and prepare inspection reports.
• Comply with safety procedures and applicable railway maintenance standards.
• Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Job description

Carry out routine inspection, testing and maintenance of railway power distribution lines, substations and associated electrical equipment within the assigned maintenance area.

Assist in preventive and corrective maintenance activities to ensure the safe and reliable operation of railway power supply systems.

Identify, report and assist in rectifying faults in electrical equipment in accordance with maintenance standards.

Record maintenance activities accurately and prepare maintenance and inspection reports.

Comply with company safety procedures, electrical safety requirements and applicable railway maintenance standards.

Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.

Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. Candidates with internship or industrial training experience in electrical systems, power distribution, substations or railway power supply systems will have an added advantage.

Basic knowledge of high-voltage and low-voltage power distribution systems and electrical equipment. Basic understanding of electrical installation, testing, maintenance and fault diagnosis. Familiarity with electrical safety procedures and safe working practices. Ability to respond calmly and effectively during equipment faults or emergency situations is an advantage.

Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
