Job summary

Munchy’s is seeking an Energy Management Specialist in Batu Pahat, Johor to monitor and optimize energy use across the plant. You will implement EnMS, identify savings opportunities, and coordinate with the electrical team and consultants to improve equipment efficiency.

The ideal candidate holds an Engineering degree and 2–5 years in energy management or industrial utilities, with strong regulatory knowledge and a proactive approach to energy efficiency.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical) or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in energy management or industrial utilities.
• Strong knowledge of energy regulations and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse energy consumption (electricity, gas, water, steam).
• Implement and ensure compliance of Energy Management System (EnMS).
• Identify and execute energy-saving projects and initiatives.
• Prepare energy performance reports and track savings.
• Assist in energy audits and regulatory inspections.
• Coordinate with electrical teams and MM2020 consultant to improve equipment efficiency.
• Promote energy awareness and best practices among staff.
• Maintain documentation for energy compliance and licensing.

• Monitor and analyse energy consumption (electricity, gas, water, steam)
• Implementation and compliance of Energy Management System (EnMS)
• Identify and execute energy-saving initiatives and projects
• Prepare energy performance reports and track savings
• Assist in energy audits and regulatory compliance
• Work closely with Electrical Consultant MM2020, production and maintenance teams to improve equipment efficiency
• Promote energy awareness and best practices among employees
• Conduct training and briefing on energy efficiency practices
• Compliance with all requirements set by Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Energy Commission Malaysia)
• Prepare and submit required energy reports (e.g., monthly/annual energy usage) to Suruhanjaya Tenaga and Electrical Consultant MM2020
• Coordinate energy-related regulatory matters and communication with Suruhanjaya Tenaga
• Handle registration and renewal requirements for electrical installations, competent persons, and energy-related certifications
• Perform and coordinate calibration activities for electrical instruments, including power meters, relays, transformer protection systems, and monitoring devices to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Oversee operation and maintenance of transformer room equipment such as transformers, switchgear, panels, and protection systems to ensure a stable and reliable power supply
• Assist in regulatory audits, inspections, and ensure timely closure of any findings
• Maintain documentation and records related to energy compliance and company licensing

Education/Experience Requirement:

• Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical/ related field)
• At least 2-5 years of experience in energy management and industrial utilities
