ByteDance in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Employee Relations Business Partner to join the HR Operations – Employee Relations team, supporting Southeast Asia and APAC. The role centers on managing complex ER matters, including organization redesign, workforce realignment, and performance management, with guidance to business leaders across the region.

Qualifications

• Minimally 5 years of Employee Relations experience, including significant exposure to organization redesign, workforce realignment, and performance management.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulatory frameworks across the Asia Pacific region.
• Proven experience managing complex, high-volume employee relations cases and providing risk-based advice.
• Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams to develop & execute pragmatic solutions.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, complex, and evolving business environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage ER cases including disciplinary issues, misconduct, performance concerns, grievances, redundancies, complex absences to successful resolution.
• Conduct independent investigations of complex HR-related concerns and apply critical thinking to analyze evidence and make investigative conclusions.
• Provide advice and counsel to businesses on disciplinary and warning actions related to ER cases, policy interpretation and employment practices of the region.
• Maintain detailed ER case documentation, including investigation reports and issue analysis.
• Curate and deliver training to improve HRBP and leader effectiveness and drive better ER decisions.
• Build partnerships with business leaders and HRBPs to sustain positive employee relations practices.
• Foster strong relationships with employment legal and investigations to balance risk and calibrate recommendations for decision-making.
• Examine trends to diagnose root causes and develop solutions for effective corrective actions.
• Ensure a coordinated and consistent case management approach to ER matters.
