Job summary

Motorola Solutions is seeking an experienced embedded software engineer in Penang to design, develop, and enhance features for two-way radios. You will participate in the full SDLC, analyze requirements, and collaborate with hardware, test, and front-end teams to deliver robust software.

The role requires strong C/C++ skills, RTOS experience, and a solid foundation in embedded systems. Onsite work in Bayan Lepas, Penang, with opportunities to contribute to IP development and agile project

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic/Telecommunications/Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
• 2–5 years of software development experience.
• Strong C/C++ skills and understanding of OOP.
• Experience with embedded systems and microcontrollers.
• Familiarity with RTOS; debugging and testing.
• LTE/DMR knowledge is advantageous.
• Agile/Scrum experience is a plus.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Role onsite in Bayan Lepas, Penang.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance software features for two-way radios.
• Participate in full SDLC from requirements to deployment.
• Analyze requirements for feasibility, quality, performance, time, and budget.
• Collaborate with front-end, hardware, and test teams for integration.
• Write clean, well-documented C/C++ code for embedded systems.
• Conduct design and code reviews to ensure high quality.
• Develop and execute unit, integration, and system tests.
• Debug and troubleshoot embedded software issues.
• Collect data to monitor KPIs and improve performance.
• Deliver projects on time and within budget in an agile environment.
• Work in a collaborative, multi-site global development environment.
• Contribute to IP development and product enhancement.
