Job summary

Foresight Asia Pacific Sdn Bhd in Penang Bayang Lepas is hiring for an electrical/automation technician to support Control System Engineers in building and wiring machines, assembling panels, and integrating PLCs, HMIs, and robotics. Qualifications

• Certificate, Diploma, or technical qualification in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Automation, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of working experience in machine assembly, electrical wiring, control panel wiring, or industrial automation.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
• Knowledge of PLC systems, industrial sensors, motors, pneumatic components, and control panels.
• Familiarity with automation equipment, robotics, and manufacturing machinery is an added advantage.
• Good troubleshooting and hands-on technical skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimum guidance.

Responsibilities

• Assist Control System Engineers in machine build, assembly, and automation projects.
• Perform simple mechanical parts assembly, electrical wiring and cable termination according to drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Assemble machine modules, control panels, sensors, motors, pneumatic components and automation equipment.
• Install and connect PLCs, HMIs, servo drives, VFDs, sensors, safety devices and field instruments.
• Conduct electrical continuity checks and functional testing of machine systems.
• Support testing, commissioning, debugging and validation activities.
• Troubleshoot electrical, wiring and control system issues during assembly and startup.
• Assist in robotics installation, setup, integration and robot teaching.
• Maintain accurate assembly records, wiring documentation and quality checklists.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and engineering standards.

This position needs to provide technical support to Control Systems Engineers in the assembly, wiring, installation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of industrial machinery, automation equipment, and robotic systems. The role is responsible for electrical panel wiring, machine assembly, equipment setup, and commissioning support to ensure automation systems operate safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist Control System Engineers in machine build, assembly, and automation projects.

Perform simple mechanical parts assembly, electrical wiring and cable termination according to assembly drawing, electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.

Assemble machine modules, control panels, sensors, motors, pneumatic components, and automation equipment.

Install and connect PLCs, HMIs, servo drivers, variable frequency drive (VFD), sensors, safety devices, and field instruments.

Perform I/O's checking & power on.

Support machine testing, commissioning, debugging, and validation activities.

Troubleshoot electrical, wiring, and control system issues during machine assembly and startup.

Assist in robotics installation, setup, integration activities & perform robot teaching.

Conduct electrical continuity checks and functional testing of machine systems.

Maintain accurate assembly records, wiring documentation, and quality checklists.

Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and engineering standards.

Support preventive maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives.

Certificate, Diploma, or Technical Qualification in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Automation, or related technical field.

Minimum 2 years of working experience in machine assembly, electrical wiring, control panel wiring, or industrial automation.

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
