Job summary

Kanry Search is seeking an Assembly Technician for a leading semiconductor automation MNC in Malaysia. You will assemble mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and robotic modules and sub-assemblies for semiconductor manufacturing lines.

Applicants should have 1–3 years of precision assembly experience (SPM with higher experience considered) and be able to read schematics and BOMs. Night, shift, or day schedules may apply, with a focus on quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronics Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 1–3 years of relevant precision assembly experience.
• SPM or equivalent with at least 5 years of directly relevant assembly experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and robotic modules and sub-assemblies.
• Perform component installation, wiring, kitting, equipment setup, alignment and calibration.
• Follow drawings, wiring schematics, work instructions and Bills of Materials.

About the role

Assembly Technician position within a leading global MNC specialising in semiconductor automation, precision robotics and high-technology manufacturing solutions. The role involves assembling mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and robotic modules and sub-assemblies for semiconductor manufacturing operations. Candidates must be fully open to working one-, two- or three-shift schedules, including night shifts, as assigned according to the product line.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and robotic modules and sub-assemblies


• Perform component installation, wiring, kitting, equipment setup, alignment and calibration


• Follow Operational Method Sheets, engineering drawings, wiring schematics, work instructions and Bills of Materials


• Use manual and powered hand tools, torque wrenches, gauges and measuring instruments


• Complete assembly adjustments according to specified tolerances


• Inspect completed work and identify assembly defects or material non-conformances


• Escalate complex technical and quality issues to senior technicians or engineers


• Record production progress and unit-tracking information in Oracle or factory shopfloor systems


• Follow cleanroom procedures, ESD controls, quality requirements and safety policies


• Support 5S, Lean Manufacturing, line balancing and continuous improvement activities

About you

• Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronics Engineering or a related technical discipline


• Approximately 1-3 years of relevant precision assembly experience


• Applicants with SPM or an equivalent qualification may be considered with at least 5 years of directly relevant assembly experience


• Able to interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, electrical schematics and BOMs


• Confident in using hand tools, power tools, torque equipment, gauges and measuring devices


• Understanding of cleanroom practices and ESD controls


• Experience in semiconductor equipment, robotics, precision engineering, EMS, medical devices or high-tech manufacturing is advantageous


• Detail-oriented, quality-conscious and able to work effectively within a production team
