Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced MV/LV Switchgear Testing Manager to lead the testing team, ensuring safe, compliant performance of switchgear and control panels. You will oversee routine and final tests, coordinate FATs with customers and consultants, and drive Right-First-Time quality across the function.

Candidates should have a diploma/degree in Electrical Engineering, 5–8 years of MV/LV testing experience with supervisory exposure, and hands-on work with 11kV/22kV/33kV gear.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5–8 years' experience in MV/LV switchgear testing, with supervisory or managerial experience.
• Hands-on testing with 11kV/22kV/33kV switchgear, RMU, VCB, LV switchboards.
• Familiarity with IEC 61439 and IEC 62271 standards.
• Ability to read and interpret SLDs, schematics, and protection diagrams.
• Experience leading FATs with customers and consultants.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and develop the MV/LV testing team — manpower planning, work allocation, and competency development
• Oversee routine and final testing of MV/LV switchgear (11kV/22kV/33kV, RMU, VCB, MSB, ACB, MCCB, ATS, MCC, capacitor bank, control panels)
• Ensure electrical testing is properly performed — insulation resistance, HiPot, primary/secondary injection, continuity, functional and control circuit tests
• Lead and coordinate Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) with customers, consultants, and contractors
• Investigate and resolve wiring errors, component failures, and protection/control issues
• Ensure test documentation, FAT records, and protection settings are complete and traceable
• Drive quality improvement and Right-First-Time performance across the testing function

Lead, manage, and develop the MV/LV testing team — manpower planning, work allocation, and competency development

Oversee routine and final testing of MV/LV switchgear (11kV/22kV/33kV, RMU, VCB, MSB, ACB, MCCB, ATS, MCC, capacitor bank, control panels)

Requirements

Strong hands-on testing experience with 11kV/22kV/33kV switchgear, RMU, VCB, and LV switchboards (ACB, MCCB, ATS, MCC)

Familiarity with IEC 61439 (LV switchgear) and IEC 62271 (MV switchgear) standards

Strong ability to read and interpret SLDs, schematics, and protection diagrams

Experience managing FATs with customers and consultants
