Job summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Technician & Welder to join Maju Gas Engineering Sdn Bhd in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur. This full-time role combines electrical installations and welding on gas equipment and related infrastructure, with emphasis on safety, quality and reliability.

You will diagnose faults, perform maintenance, read schematics, and collaborate with engineers to complete projects on schedule while maintaining strict health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Electrical Technician with 3–5 years in oil and gas or similar industrial sector.
• Demonstrated competency in welding techniques MIG, TIG and stick welding.
• Sound knowledge of electrical systems, circuitry, control panels and instrumentation relevant to gas operations.
• Valid welding certification or qualification recognised in Malaysia or internationally.
• Understanding of electrical safety protocols and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics and welding blueprints.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication abilities and the capacity to work effectively within a team environment.
• Physical capability to perform manual labour and work at heights where required.
• Willingness to undertake ongoing training and professional development in emerging technologies and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Performing electrical installations, repairs and maintenance on gas equipment and related infrastructure.
• Conducting welding operations on pipelines, pressure vessels and structural components in accordance with industry standards and specifications.
• Diagnosing electrical faults and implementing corrective measures to minimise downtime.
• Preparing work areas and equipment prior to carrying out electrical and welding tasks.
• Conducting routine inspections of electrical systems and welding work to ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
• Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs and inspections.
• Collaborating with other technicians and engineers to complete projects on schedule and within budget.
• Adhering to all health, safety and environmental guidelines throughout all work activities.
• Supporting troubleshooting efforts to resolve technical issues efficiently.
