Job summary

M8M Pte Ltd in Penang is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to manage electrical projects from planning through commissioning at the Penang office. The role involves coordinating site operations, reviewing project docs, and providing technical support to teams.

You will work closely with mechanical and control engineers, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance while delivering projects on schedule and within scope.

Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma/Higher Nitec in Electrical & Electronic Engineering.
• Automation design of control systems (hardware & software).
• Experience in motor control, hardware and software designs with PLCs.
• Fluency in English and Mandarin (written and spoken).
• Good analytical reasoning and communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Wiring assembly/installation experience is a plus.
• MS Office and AutoCAD proficiency expected.
• Willing to travel frequently, including overseas.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support site operations for materials, manpower, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems
• Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and teams
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
• Provide technical support and guidance to other team members
• Make decisions on the spot and demonstrate strong adaptability in dynamic situations
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations to maintain a safe and legal working environment
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical and control engineers, to integrate systems effectively
• Document lessons learned and best practices to improve future projects and team efficiency

About you

• Degree/Diploma/Higher Nitec in Electrical & Electronic Engineering
• Knowledge in automation design of the control system (Hardware & Software)
• Experience in motor control, hardware and software designs with controls using PLCs an advantage
• Fluency in English and Mandarin, both written and oral to liaise with associates
• Good analytical reasoning, theoretical approach and communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal and Communication skills
• Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimum supervision
• Hands-on experience on wiring assembly and installation will be an advantage
• Proficient in MS office and other relevant software like AutoCAD
• Must be willing to travel frequently to project sites and overseas at short notice
