Job summary

YDT Automation Sdn Bhd is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design, develop and support electrical and control systems for AGV, AMR, and warehouse automation solutions. You will work with mechanical, robotics software, and applications teams on electrical design, control panels, sensors, motors, PLCs and system integration from development through commissioning.

The role requires a Diploma or Degree in Electrical/Mechatronics engineering, strong understanding of electrical circuits and control

Qualifications

• Designs, develops, and supports electrical control systems for automation equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Familiar with PLCs, sensors, relays, and industrial control components.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for AGV, AMR and automation equipment.
• Prepare schematics, wiring diagrams and control panel layouts.
• Select PLCs, servo drives, motors, sensors and safety devices.
• Design and troubleshoot 24VDC/AC power and control circuits.
• Develop and modify PLC programs when required.
• Configure protocols like Modbus, TCP/IP, EtherCAT, CAN Bus.
• Support electrical integration between robots, conveyors and machines.
• Conduct electrical testing, commissioning and site troubleshooting.

Electrical Engineer (Automation & Robotics)

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to design, develop and support the electrical and control systems used in our AGV, AMR and warehouse automation solutions. You will work closely with our mechanical, robotics software and applications teams on electrical design, control panels, sensors, motors, PLCs and system integration from development through commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for AGV, AMR and automation equipment
• Prepare electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and control panel layouts
• Select electrical components such as PLCs, servo drives and motors, sensors, safety devices, relays and contactors, power supplies, and circuit protection devices
• Design and troubleshoot 24VDC / AC power and control circuits
• Perform robot and control panel wiring, testing and troubleshooting
• Integrate sensors, actuators, motors, PLCs and industrial devices
• Develop and modify PLC programs when required
• Configure communication protocols such as Modbus, TCP/IP, EtherCAT, CAN Bus or Remote I/O
• Support electrical integration between robots, conveyors, machines and customer equipment
• Conduct electrical testing, commissioning and site troubleshooting

About you

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics or related field
• Good understanding of electrical circuits and control systems
• Able to read and prepare electrical schematics and wiring drawings
• Familiar with PLC, sensors, relays, contactors and industrial control components
• Basic understanding of motor drives and servo systems
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable with hands-on electrical wiring and testing
• Able to work with mechanical and software engineering teams
• PLC programming experience (added advantage)
• Keyence / Mitsubishi / Siemens / Omron PLC experience (added advantage)
