Job summary

Maverick United Consulting Engineers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, invites a qualified Electrical Engineer to join our team based at Bukit Jalil, KL, to contribute to structural and infrastructural electrical design projects.

The role involves preparing electrical designs, coordinating interfaces with architectural, structural, ELV/ICT disciplines, supporting site teams during testing and commissioning, and reviewing as-built documentation to ensure project completion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5–8 years of electrical engineering design experience in a consultancy.
• Knowledge of IEC, IEEE, BS, MS, NFPA and IET Wiring Regulations.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, design software, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review electrical designs, drawings, calculations, specs, and documentation.
• Coordinate electrical interfaces with architectural, structural, ELV/ICT, and other disciplines.
• Provide site support, review contractor submissions, RFIs, and shop drawings.

Job Duties

• Prepare and review electrical designs, drawings, calculations, specifications, and technical documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
• Coordinate electrical design interfaces with architectural, structural, mechanical, ELV/ICT, and other engineering disciplines.
• Provide technical support to site teams, including reviewing contractor submissions, shop drawings, RFIs, and technical queries.
• Support testing, commissioning, and system energization activities, ensuring successful implementation of electrical systems.
• Review as-built drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, and handover documentation to ensure project completion requirements are met.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 to 8 years of electrical engineering design experience within an engineering consultancy environment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution systems, LV/MV systems, protection systems, earthing, and lightning protection.
• Familiarity with international and Malaysian standards such as IEC, IEEE, BS, MS, NFPA, and IET Wiring Regulations.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, engineering design software, technical reporting, and Microsoft Office applications, with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
