Job summary

Maverick United Consulting Engineers in Kuala Lumpur invites a Mechanical Engineer with 5–8 years of design experience to join our team at Bukit Jalil, KL. You will develop and review mechanical designs and coordinate interfaces across disciplines to support construction from concept to handover.

The candidate will work on HVAC, ventilation, and piping systems, with proficiency in BIM tools and experience in design reviews, testing, and commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5–8 years of mechanical engineering design experience.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, ventilation, chilled water, pumping, piping systems.
• Experience in design development, design reviews, technical coordination, and multidisciplinary project delivery.
• Familiarity with ASHRAE, SMACNA, BS/EN, BIM tools, and testing & commissioning activities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, develop, and review mechanical designs, drawings, specifications, and equipment selections.
• Coordinate mechanical interfaces with architectural, structural, electrical, ELV, and other building services disciplines.
• Prepare design deliverables including basis of design reports, schematics, layouts, equipment schedules, specifications, and tender documentation.
• Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, and technical queries; provide technical support during construction and installation works.
• Support testing, commissioning, equipment start-up, functional testing, and handover activities, including reviewing as-built drawings and O&M manuals.

Job Requirements

• Strong knowledge of HVAC, ventilation, chilled water, pumping, piping, and associated mechanical systems.
• Experience in design development, design reviews, technical coordination, and multidisciplinary project delivery.
• Familiarity with relevant standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, BS/EN), BIM tools such as Revit and Navisworks, and testing & commissioning activities
