Job summary

• Familiarity with data center standards (Tier III/IV, Uptime Institute, GB50174, TIA-942).

Responsibilities

• Review and develop electrical design deliverables including SLDs, P&ID, GA drawings, cable routing plans, and cable schedules; ensure compliance with project specifications and data center standards
• Prepare and review key engineering documents including Scope of Work, RFQ, MOS, and Testing & Commissioning (T&C) procedures
• Supervise electrical installation works including cable laying, termination, and equipment installation; ensure works are executed in accordance with approved design drawings and safety standards
• Support commissioning and test run activities; verify installed systems against original design intent; close out designated punch items
• Coordinate electrical design interfaces across mechanical, civil, and controls disciplines; ensure design consistency and constructability
• Ensure electrical works comply with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications (IEC, GB50174, TIA-942, local regulations)
• Represent the electrical discipline in project/site coordination meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors

Job description

This role involves electrical design, technical documentation, site supervision, and commissioning for data center projects. You will review and develop electrical design deliverables, prepare engineering documents, supervise installation works, support testing and commissioning activities, coordinate across disciplines, ensure compliance with standards, and represent the electrical discipline in project meetings.

Key responsibilities

Review and develop electrical design deliverables including single line diagrams (SLD), P&ID, general arrangement (GA) drawings, cable routing plans, and cable schedules; ensure compliance with project specifications and data center standards

Prepare and review key engineering documents including Scope of Work, RFQ, Method of Statement (MOS), and Testing & Commissioning (T&C) procedures

Supervise electrical installation works including cable laying, termination, and equipment installation; ensure works are executed in accordance with approved design drawings and safety standards

Support commissioning and test run activities; verify installed systems against original design intent; close out designated punch items

Coordinate electrical design interfaces across mechanical, civil, and controls disciplines; ensure design consistency and constructability

Ensure electrical works comply with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications (IEC, GB50174, TIA-942, local regulations)

About you

Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or related field

5-8 years electrical engineering experience in construction, with 3+ years in data center projects

Proficiency in AutoCAD for electrical design and drafting

Strong knowledge of electrical systems including power distribution, UPS, switchgear, and lighting

Familiarity with data center standards (Tier III/IV, Uptime Institute, GB50174, TIA-942)

Experience in EPCC project delivery and site supervision

PMP or BEM registration is an advantage

Good communication skills in English and Malay; Mandarin is a plus
