Job summary

Hirehub Group is seeking an Electrical Engineer (Construction) for Senai, Johor. You will manage electrical construction for digital manufacturing facilities, overseeing high and low voltage distribution, UPS, protection, and grounding on site.

The role requires 4+ years with strong English communication and proficiency in AutoCAD; BIM coordination is a plus. Based in Malaysia for long-term projects, with a focus on safe, compliant, and efficient installations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience in electrical construction management for industrial facilities, data centres, or large-scale projects.
• Strong knowledge of high and low voltage power distribution and critical power systems.
• Proficient in AutoCAD for electrical drafting; Electrical BIM coordination is a plus.
• Good command of written and spoken English for on-site communication.

Responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for electrical construction management of digital manufacturing facilities, including power distribution, lighting, UPS, and grounding.
• Oversee installation and QA of dual/redundant power supply systems, rack power distribution, smart meters, and automation wiring.
• Review electrical drawings, cable tray layouts, busways, and grounding designs; optimize site layouts and integration of modular components.
• Supervise cable installation, panel installation, grounding, insulation testing, and energization; ensure compliance with standards and safety on site.
• Manage electrical subcontractors, inspect incoming equipment, conduct safety briefings, and perform routine site inspections.
• Prepare and maintain method statements, test records, inspection docs, and coordinate inspections and project handover.

Job Responsibilities:

• Take full responsibility for the electrical construction management of digital manufacturing facilities, including high and low voltage power distribution, power and lighting systems, UPS systems, lightning protection and grounding, fire protection electrical systems, and intelligent power distribution systems.
• Oversee the installation and quality control of dual power supply systems, redundant power systems, rack power distribution, smart meters, data acquisition devices, and automation control system wiring based on the operational requirements of digital manufacturing facilities.
• Review electrical construction drawings, cable tray layouts, busway systems, power distribution circuits, and grounding designs, optimize site installation layouts, and coordinate the electrical pre-installation and on-site integration of modular prefabricated components.
• Supervise critical construction activities including cable installation, distribution board/panel installation, grounding works, insulation testing, and power energization and commissioning, ensuring compliance with electrical standards and safety requirements.
• Manage electrical subcontractors, inspect incoming equipment and materials, conduct electrical safety briefings, perform routine inspections, identify electrical hazards, and ensure the safe and reliable operation of site electrical systems.
• Prepare, review, and maintain electrical method statements, test records, and inspection documentation, while coordinating electrical inspections, integrated system commissioning, and project handover for maintenance.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 4 years of experience in electrical construction management for industrial facilities, data centres, or large-scale commercial/public building projects.
• Strong knowledge of high and low voltage power distribution systems and critical power systems for industrial facilities and data centres.
• Proficient in the installation of cable trays, busway systems, UPS systems, lightning protection and grounding, ELV rough-in works, and intelligent power distribution systems, with knowledge of international electrical standards and practices.
• Proficient in AutoCAD for electrical drafting; experience with Electrical BIM design and coordination will be an added advantage.
• Good command of written and spoken English, with the ability to interpret English electrical drawings, specifications, and communicate effectively on-site.
• Willing to be based in Malaysia for long-term assignments, with strong integrity, a high level of safety awareness, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced international project environment.
