Greatech Integration (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer in Penang to translate customer requirements into electrical schematics and integrated machine designs. The role involves BOM creation, sourcing components, and ensuring wiring integrity for robust automation solutions.

You will collaborate with Mechanical and Software teams, design control boxes, and conduct rigorous electrical testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic or Mechatronic/Electromechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Fresh graduate or 0–2 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with Mechanical Design and Software teams to understand project requirements and integrate electrical design specifications.
• Create and maintain detailed BOMs, sourcing components per needs, cost, and availability.
• Use AutoCAD/EPLAN to design electrical schematic diagrams per customer specs.
• Design layouts for electrical control boxes with proper wire sizing and circuit protection.
• Collaborate with Purchasing to track timely component delivery for assembly and deployment.
• Provide wiring and integration instructions to Assembly for the machines.
• Perform electrical system testing and troubleshooting during power-on to ensure software readiness.
• Adhere to ISO requirements and safety standards in design and operation.
• Travel locally and overseas for onsite installation support as needed.
• Perform additional tasks as directed by superiors.

Job description

• 1. Liaise with Mechanical Design and Software teams to understand project requirements and integrate electrical design specifications into the machine's development.
• 2. Create and maintain detailed bills of materials (BOM), selecting and sourcing electrical components aligned with project needs, cost-effectiveness, and availability.
• 3. Utilize AutoCAD/Eplan (or other electrical schematic tools) to design electrical schematic diagrams in accordance with customer specifications and project requirements.
• 4. Design optimal layouts for electrical control boxes, ensuring precise wire sizing and implementing circuit protection mechanisms as per system requirements.
• 5. Collaborate closely with the Purchasing Department to track and ensure timely delivery of all necessary components for machine assembly and deployment.
• 6. Provide clear and concise instructions to the Assembly regarding the wiring and integration of electrical components within the machine.
• 7. Perform rigorous electrical system testing and troubleshooting during machine power-up, ensuring smooth software operation and functionality before final delivery.
• 8. Adhere strictly to ISO requirements and industry safety standards, integrating these protocols into all aspects of design and operation.
• 9. Ability to travel both locally and overseas, upon requests for project onsite installation support.
• 10. Perform additional tasks as directed by superiors as part of ongoing responsibilities.
• 11. Other duties and assignments as instructed by superiors from time to time.
• 12. To comply to all requirements of ISO (inclusive of all standards approved by the Management) and to adhere to general safety practices, standard operating procedure, work instructions, policies and guidelines provided by the company.

• 1.Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic), Engineering (Mechatronic/Electromechanical) or equivalent years of related experience.
• 2.Fresh graduate or minimum of 0-2 years of working experience in the related field.
