Job summary

SK8 Engineering is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer in Malaysia to craft electrical layouts, schematics, and documentation for projects. You will perform calculations, ensure compliance with IEC/IEEE standards, and collaborate with mechanical, project, and production teams to integrate electrical systems.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering with 2–5 years of relevant experience, proficiency in AutoCAD/EPLAN, and strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 2–5 years of experience in electrical design (fresh graduates with strong fundamentals may be considered).
• Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD, EPLAN, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of electrical standards and safety regulations (IEC, IEEE, etc.).
• Good understanding of control systems, power distribution, and electrical components.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and detail-oriented skills.
• Good communication skill and teamwork abilities.
• Knowledge of generator control systems is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical layout, design drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation based on project requirements.
• Perform calculations and simulations to ensure designs comply with industry standards, codes, and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with Mechanical Design, Project, and Production teams to integrate electrical systems into overall project designs.
• Support preparation of Bill of Materials (BOM) and technical specifications for procurement and fabrication.
• Conduct design reviews and propose improvements to enhance system reliability, cost-effectiveness, and efficiency.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and suppliers to clarify technical requirements and resolve design issues.
• Provide technical support during installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting phases.
• Ensure all design activities are completed within project schedules and quality standards.
