Job summary

Camarine Supervision is seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Site Engineer to support projects led from Taiwan. The role centers on onsite supervision, testing and commissioning of E&I systems, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

The successful candidate will coordinate with contractors, review design deliverables, and participate in handover activities, with a focus on accurate I/O wiring, loop checks and site documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline recognised by relevant authority.
• Relevant local professional certification or licence for electrical/instrumentation work, where required.
• Typically 5–8+ years of hands-on site execution experience in E&I engineering within heavy industry, chemical, gas or energy projects in APAC.

Camarine Supervision is supporting a confidential international client in the industrial gases and engineering sector in sourcing an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Site Engineer for projects based in Taiwan.

Role Summary:

Act as the site focal point for electrical and instrumentation (E&I) construction, installation, testing and commissioning support. The role is responsible for technical supervision, quality and safety compliance, contractor coordination, progress monitoring and the handover of E&I systems.

Key Responsibilities:

E&I Construction and Installation Supervision

• Supervise site installation of HV/MV/LV electrical systems, control systems, instrumentation and associated cabling works.
• Oversee installation and inspection of transformers, MCCs, switchgear, UPS systems, earthing/grounding, lighting, junction boxes, field instruments, tubing and control-system interfaces.
• Review contractor method statements, inspection and test plans (ITPs), procedures and detailed drawings to ensure alignment with approved project requirements, codes and standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections and surveillance; identify, record and follow up non-conformities, punch-list items and deviations through closure.
• Monitor cable pulling, glanding, termination and labelling, and verify loop checks, continuity testing, insulation-resistance testing and functional tests.
• Participate in system walkdowns, mechanical completion activities and readiness reviews for energisation and commissioning.

Engineering and Technical Support

• Review single-line diagrams, schematics, protection schemes, control philosophies and contractor design deliverables.
• Support technical clarifications, RFIs and resolution of site engineering issues in coordination with design and project teams.
• Prepare or review key E&I deliverables such as cable schedules, interconnection diagrams, loop drawings and layouts.
• Participate in constructability reviews and provide practical input to optimise installation methods and sequencing.

Commissioning, Completion and Handover

• Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for E&I systems, including energisation planning, loop checking, functional testing, system integration and performance verification.
• Ensure proper application of lockout/tagout (LOTO), permit-to-work and safe energisation practices.
• Support system handover and acceptance, punch-list closure, completion of test packs and turnover dossiers, and final readiness reviews.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering or a related discipline recognised by the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
• Relevant local professional certification or licence for electrical/instrumentation work, where required.
• Typically 5-8+ years of hands-on site execution experience in E&I engineering, including installation, testing and pre-commissioning within heavy industrial, chemical, gas or energy projects in APAC.
• Strong contractor-management skills, safety leadership and effective communication in cross-cultural project environments.
• Proficient in spoken and written English; Chinese language capability is an advantage.
