Job summary

Talent Recruit represents a leading engineering solutions provider in Malaysia, seeking an experienced E&I engineer for water and wastewater projects. You will assist the Project Manager in planning, budgeting, and delivering E&I scopes from design through commissioning and handover.

The role requires a Degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 3 years of E&I experience in construction, with knowledge of MV/LV/ELV, SCADA, Telemetry, and P&ID reading.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 3+ years of experience in E&I engineering/project related to water/wastewater construction.
• E&I design knowledge in MV, LV, ELV, SCADA, and telemetry for senior role.
• Registered Graduate Engineer with BEM Malaysia.
• Familiar with technical specs, circuit diagrams, and contract docs.
• Able to read P&ID and manage project documentation.
• Willing to travel and be posted outstation.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager in planning and coordinating all E&I works.
• Monitor actual cost against budgets to protect profit margins.
• Assist Engineering Manager in creating E&I drawings and documents.
• Support tender/procurement activities for E&I.
• Review E&I deliverables from subcontractors/vendors.
• Lead and coordinate site supervision team.
• Coordinate inspections with Resident Engineer/Superintending Officer.
• Manage technical and engineering problems on site.
• Support progress programming from design to commissioning.
• Assist in certification of subcontractors' progress claims.
• Liaise with clients, authorities and consultants.
• Help implement and monitor the company's quality system on site.
• Coordinate with civil, mechanical, and process sub-contractors on E&I needs.
• Prepare progress reports and escalate site issues to Project Manager.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Job description

We are representing a leading engineering solutions provider that specialises in mechanical and electrical (M&E) Engineering for municipal water supply and wastewater infrastructure. They have more than 35 years of experience in designing, supplying, installing, testing, commissioning, and maintaining water and wastewater treatment systems across Malaysia.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist the Project Manager in project planning and to coordinate and oversee all works in regard to electrical and instrumentation (E&I).
• Assist the Project Manager in monitoring the actual cost incurred against cost budgets to protect and maximise project profit margins.
• Assist Engineering Manager/Electrical Manager in establishing E&I engineering drawings and documents.
• Assist Tender Manager/Project Manager in tender and procurement exercise in regard to E&I principles.
• Review E&I engineering deliverables submitted by subcontractors and vendors.
• Lead, monitor and coordinate the work of site supervisor.
• Coordinate the inspection of works by Resident Engineer/Superintending Officer.
• Manage technical and engineering problems.
• Assist the Project Manager in planning, programming and monitoring of works progress from design to commissioning stage.
• Assist the Project Manager in the certification of sub-contractors/supplier progress claims.
• Liaise with clients representative, relevant authorities and consultants.
• Assist the Project Manager in the implementation and monitoring of the Companys Quality system on site.
• Coordinate closely with inter-discipline (civil, mechanical, and process) sub-contractors, vendors, peers, on respective requirements that impact E&I works.
• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly work progress report, update site issue and report to Project Manager.
• Other tasks & project as assigned from time to time.

Job Requirements:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in E&I engineering/project related in construction of water/wastewater treatment plant.
• E&I design knowledge in MV, LV, ELV, SCADA, and Telemetry for Senior post.
• Registered Graduate Engineer with Board of Engineer (BEM) Malaysia.
• Familiar with technical specifications, circuit diagrams, and contract/project documentation.
• Able to read and understand P&ID.
• Possess project management skill.
• Software knowledge in REVIT, Primavera, MS Project and AutoCad for Senior post.
• Willing to travel and be posted outstation.
• Self-motivated, able to work with minimum supervision.
• Able to work under pressure and tight deadlines to complete assignment.
