Job summary

Power Shine Star is seeking a Site Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer to supervise E&I construction, testing and pre-commissioning on a major industrial project. You will coordinate between contractors, engineering, commissioning and project teams to ensure safe, high-quality and timely execution.

The role demands 5–8+ years of site E&I experience, strong contractor management and excellent communication in multicultural teams, with emphasis on safety and quality adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation & Control.
• Degree recognized by the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
• 5–8+ years of proven site execution experience in E&I.
• Strong experience in installation, testing and pre-commissioning.
• Experience in heavy industrial or energy-sector projects preferred.
• International/APAC project experience is an advantage.
• Strong contractor management and technical coordination skills.
• Excellent communication in multicultural project environments.

Responsibilities

• Supervise E&I installation activities, including HV/MV/LV systems and cabling.
• Ensure works comply with drawings, method statements, ITPs, specifications and applicable standards.
• Review contractor method statements, ITPs and technical procedures.
• Conduct regular site inspections and monitor installation quality.
• Identify NCRs, punch-list items and construction deviations.
• Supervise installation of transformers, MCCs, switchgear, UPS, grounding and lighting systems.
• Oversee instrumentation installation including tubing, wiring, junction boxes and field instruments.
• Monitor cable pulling, termination, glanding and labelling.
• Support loop checking, continuity testing, insulation resistance testing and functional testing.
• Review electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, schematics, protection schemes and control documents.

• Strong experience in installation, testing and pre-commissioning
• Experience in heavy industrial, chemical, gas or energy-sector projects is preferred
• International/APAC project experience is an advantage
• Strong contractor management and technical coordination skills
