Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, Environmental Health, or related field.
• 5–8 years of EHS/WSH experience in real estate and construction.
• Registered Safety and Health Officer (SHO) with DOSH Malaysia; NEBOSH/IOSH or equivalent is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian WSH legislation (OSHA 1994, CIDB, etc.).
• Fire safety training by BOMBA-recognized provider is advantageous.
• Experience managing building fire certificates and Fire Safety Organization (FSO)/ERT.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in incident investigation techniques and root cause analysis.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced construction environment.
• Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of EHS policies, procedures, standards across development projects and operational buildings.
• Monitor compliance with local regulations including OSH Act and Environmental Quality Act.
• Review and improve EHS policies based on regulatory changes, audits, incidents, and best practices.
• Maintain EHS management systems, registers, records, and documentation.
• Collaborate with development and property teams to implement EHS requirements across the building lifecycle.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards.
• Support the implementation of emergency preparedness and response procedures.
• Deliver WSH training programs and safety briefings for all staff and visitors.
• Liaise with regulators (e.g. DOSH, BOMBA) and auditors on EHS matters.
• Monitor and report EHS KPIs to senior management.

EHS Senior Executive or Assistant Manager

The Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Senior Executive is responsible for implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of the company’s EHS policies, management systems and compliance processes across both development projects and operational building portfolio. The role also oversees the fire safety management framework for operational assets, including, fire certificate compliance and fire safety organization requirements.

This role will report to ESH Manager and ensures full compliance with Malaysian regulatory requirements as well as promotes a strong safety culture within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of EHS policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines across development projects and operational buildings. Monitor the compliance with the local regulations, including Occupational Safety and Health Act, Environmental Quality Act, and other relevant legislation.
• Support the review and continuous improvement of EHS policies and procedures based on regulatory changes, audit findings, incidents, and industry best practices.
• Assist in maintaining EHS management systems, registers, records, and documentation.
• Work with development and property management teams in implementing EHS requirements and monitor the performance of supply chain (e.g., consultants, contractors, etc.), throughout building lifecycle.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
• Support the implementation of emergency preparedness and response procedures.
• Deliver WSH training programs and safety briefings for all levels of staff, including visitors.
• Liaise with regulators (e.g. DOSH, BOMBA, etc.) and auditors on EHS and fire safety matters, when required.
• Monitor and track EHS KPIs and prepare monthly/quarterly reports for senior management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, Environmental Health, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 or 8 years of EHS or WSH experience within the real estate and construction industry.
• Registered Safety and Health Officer (SHO) with DOSH Malaysia (mandatory). Additional certification, such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent WSH, would be advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian WSH legislation, including OSHA 1994, Factories and Machinery Act, CIDB regulations, and other relevant standards.
• Fire safety training (by BOMBA recognized provider) would be advantageous.
• Experience in managing building fire certificate and establishing Fire Safety Organization (FSO) and Emergency Response Team (ERT) is highly appreciated.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in incident investigation techniques and root cause analysis.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced construction environment.
• Proficient in Bahasa Malaysia and English (written and spoken).
