Job summary

Richport Technology Sdn. Bhd., based in Bukit Minyak, Penang, seeks an experienced EHS Officer to lead environmental, health and safety programs.

You will ensure regulatory compliance, train staff, manage emergency response, conduct incident investigations, and perform audits with timely reporting to DOSH and related authorities. The ideal candidate holds a DOSH/DOE Safety & Health certification with Green Book and ISO 45001/14001 Lead Auditor credentials, and is willing to work at the Penang

Qualifications

• Degree in Environment Sciences or Safety & Health required.
• Certified by DOSH or DOE as Safety & Health Officer with valid credentials.
• Experience with chemical, automotive, metal industries and CePSWaM.
• Experience in 3D environments (dirty, dusty & dangerous).
• ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 Lead Auditor credentials preferred.
• Experience leading Emergency Response Team (ERT).
• Background in Quality & Engineering.
• Willing to work at Bukit Minyak, Penang.

Job description

Developing a systematic and organized approach to following and complying with environmental regulations, managing waste, and lead safety programs in the company.

Ensure plant operations, equipment; process and material comply with regulatory requirement.

Responsible for all employees’ safety at work and the use of proper safeguards.

Conduct on-going training related to safety for all employees in the company.

Train an effective Emergency Response Team and Safety Committee.

Implement and manage EHS awareness programs, OSHAS and ISO program.

Establish guidelines on medical surveillance and responsible to execute the program.

Incident investigation and EHS related data trending including implementation of corrective and preventive actions; reports and statistics publish on timely basis.

Establish and review safety and health policy/checklist/forms, exposure assessment results, legal & Chemical Registers, Chemical Safety Data Sheets, Regulated Equipment Listing, safety management instructions, emergency evacuation plan, safety handbook in compliance to government regulatory requirements and DOSH regulations.

Conduct periodic safety audit, risk assessments and emergency evacuation drills.

Manage EHS’s contractors and performance.

Establish good rapport with local government agencies and authorities such as DOSH, DOE, BOMBA, NIOSH, CIDB and Majlis Perbandaran, etc. in licensing/permitting, audits & inspections to ensure successful outcomes and regulatory compliance.

Any other duties assigned by superior.

Requirements:

Candidate must possess at least Degree in Environment Sciences and/or Safety & Health Engineering or any other equivalent.

Certified by DOSH or DOE as Safety & Health Officer with valid Green Book, e-SWISS, ergonomic assessor.

Experience in handling chemical, automotive, metal and competence in CePSWaM.

Experience in 3D environment (dirty, dusty & dangerous).

Certified Lead Auditor for ISO 45001 & ISO 14001.

Experience to lead Emergency Response Team (ERT) or act as Emergency Commander.

Experience and knowledge in Quality & Engineering background.

Willing to work in Bukit Minyak, Pulau Pinang.
