Job description

• Responsible for conducting and coordinating the monthly Plant Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) audit and ensuring timely closure of identified findings.
• Coordinate and implement EHS rules, policies, procedures and practices in accordance with corporate requirements and applicable Malaysian legislation.
• Conduct regular inspections of the plant premises to identify safety, health and environmental hazards and risks, and monitor corrective and preventive actions until closure.
• Plan, coordinate and review Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) monitoring activities, including data analysis, reporting and corrective action planning.
• Ensure company policies, systems, processes and procedures support ongoing compliance with applicable Environmental, Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) and EHS regulations.
• Coordinate with all relevant departments to ensure their daily operations comply with applicable EHS requirements, standards and legal obligations.
• Lead and provide guidance, awareness and training to relevant personnel on hazard identification, risk assessment, safe work practices and environmental compliance.
• Coordinate and support Health & Safety Committee meetings, including preparation of meeting materials, minutes and follow-up on action items.
• Report and liaise with Management and relevant authorities regarding workplace incidents, environmental matters, statutory submissions and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain, monitor and update SHE/EHS documents, records, inspection reports, risk assessments, training records and compliance documentation to ensure they are complete and up to date.
• Monitor compliance with DOE, DOSH and other applicable regulatory requirements, including follow‑up on inspections, notices, corrective actions and regulatory matters.
• Support environmental management activities, including industrial effluent/wastewater treatment operations, scheduled waste management, environmental monitoring and related compliance requirements.
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Management.

Requirements

• Professional Certificate, Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, Post Graduate Diploma or Professional Degree in Environment, Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering or equivalent.
• MUST possess a valid and recognized Certified Environmental Professional in the Operation of Industrial Effluent Treatment System – Physical Chemical Processes (CePIETSO-PCP) certificate.
• Candidates with CePIETSO-PCP competency certification and practical experience in industrial effluent treatment plant (IETS) operations will be highly preferred.
• Preferably 1–2 years of working experience in EHS, Environmental, Occupational Safety & Health, manufacturing or a related field.
• Knowledge of Environmental Quality Act 1974, Occupational Safety and Health requirements, DOE and DOSH regulations, and other applicable Malaysian environmental and workplace safety legislation.
• Experience or knowledge in industrial effluent/wastewater treatment, scheduled waste management, environmental monitoring and EHS compliance will be an added advantage.
• Able to work closely with DOSH, DOE and other relevant statutory/regulatory authorities to ensure regulatory compliance and follow up on related issues.
• Strong planning, leadership, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Able to conduct inspections, identify hazards and risks, and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
• Self-motivated, proactive and able to make independent, informed and prioritized decisions.
• Able to work independently as well as collaboratively with different departments.
• Good documentation, reporting and record-keeping skills.
• Applicants must be willing to work in Kapar, Selangor.
• Own transport is required.

Added Advantage

• Possession of additional relevant EHS/environmental competency certifications such as CePSWaM (Certified Environmental Professional in Scheduled Waste Management) or other recognized environmental competency certificates.
• Experience working in a manufacturing/food manufacturing environment.
• Experience in handling DOE/DOSH inspections, environmental audits, incident investigations and regulatory compliance.
