Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) professional to manage and maintain the company’s EHS programs and documentation.

The role ensures compliance with DOE/JAS, DOSH/JKKP, OSHA and environmental requirements, manages scheduled waste, chemical inventory, SDS, and labelling, and conducts regular 6S and safety inspections, trainings, and audits.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant EHS/OSH experience, preferably in a manufacturing or factory environment.
  • Must possess a valid DOE Scheduled Waste Competent Person (CePSW) certificate OR DOSH OSH-C Competent Person certificate.
  • Practical experience in scheduled waste management, chemical management, workplace safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Good knowledge of DOSH/JKKP, DOE, BOMBA, and other applicable Malaysian EHS regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in HIRARC, safety inspections, incident reporting, emergency preparedness, and workplace risk assessment.
  • Experience coordinating 6S/5S activities and maintaining good housekeeping standards.
  • Good documentation, organizational, coordination, and follow-up skills.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with applicable DOE/JAS, DOSH/JKKP, OSHA and environmental requirements.
  • Manage scheduled waste, including chemical waste storage, labelling, records, eSWIS updates and disposal arrangements.
  • Maintain chemical inventory, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), chemical labelling and proper storage practices.
  • Conduct regular workplace safety, environmental and 6S inspections and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Coordinate safety training, toolbox meetings, emergency drills and related EHS activities.
  • Assist in HIRARC, risk assessments, incident/accident investigations and preventive actions.
  • Coordinate with licensed waste contractors and relevant government authorities for EHS-related matters.
  • Monitor the condition of safety equipment, PPE, emergency equipment and workplace facilities.
  • Prepare and maintain EHS reports, inspection records, permits, certificates and compliance documentation.
  • Support internal and external audits, regulatory inspections and certification requirements.
  • Promote a strong safety, environmental and 6S culture throughout the factory.
  • Perform other EHS-related duties assigned by management.

  • Experience dealing with DOE/DOSH inspections, audits, licensed scheduled waste contractors, or regulatory submissions is an advantage.
