Job summary

Pembinaan Jaya Maju Sdn Bhd, Kuching, is seeking a Quantity Surveyor/Assistant Quantity Surveyor to manage quotations, claims, cost control, measurements and contract administration on site. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-growing construction environment.

The successful candidate will contribute to cost records and reports, liaise with contractors and suppliers, and support project managers in commercial decisions.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related field.
• 2–3 years of relevant site experience in construction.
• Experience in building/infrastructure projects is an advantage.
• Knowledge of measurement, costing and contract administration.
• Familiar with progress claims and variation orders.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Good communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Independent, able to work under pressure with attention to detail.
• Strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Handle quotation and quotation evaluation.
• Prepare and evaluate progress claims and variation orders.
• Monitor project costs, budget and expenditure.
• Conduct measurement and quantity take-off from drawings and site works.
• Assist in contract administration and manage subcontractor.
• Check and verify site measurements and completed works.
• Liaise with contractor, subcontractors and suppliers on commercial matters.
• Maintain proper cost records, documentation and reports.
• Identify potential cost risks and advise the Project Manager on commercial matters.
