Job summary

Monzone Group in Malaysia is seeking a detail-oriented Drafter to join our engineering team. You will transform engineering concepts into accurate manufacturing-ready designs using SolidWorks for 3D models and detailed drawings.

Key tasks include creating 3D models, maintaining BOMs, converting files (AI, DXF, DWG, STEP), and collaborating with engineers, production, and sales to meet customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modelling and drafting.
• Strong knowledge of engineering drawings and dimensioning.
• Experience preparing and managing BOMs.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines; good communication.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
• Prepare and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Convert and manage engineering files in AI, DXF, DWG, STEP formats.
• Collaborate with engineers, sales, production, and project stakeholders.
• Ensure drawings comply with company standards and quality requirements.
• Maintain organized engineering databases and drawing records.
• Manage document control and revision history.
• Conduct self-checks and drawing reviews before submission.
• Provide drafting support for new product development and customised vehicles.

What You'll Do

As a Drafter, you will play a vital role in transforming engineering concepts into accurate manufacturing-ready designs.

Key Responsibilities

• Create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
• Prepare and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) for projects.
• Convert and manage engineering files in multiple formats including AI, DXF, DWG, STEP, and others as required.
• Collaborate closely with engineers, sales personnel, production teams, and project stakeholders to ensure designs meet customer and operational requirements.
• Ensure all drawings and documentation comply with company standards and quality requirements.
• Maintain organised and accurate engineering databases and drawing records.
• Manage document control and maintain proper revision history.
• Conduct self-checks and drawing reviews to ensure accuracy before submission.
• Provide drafting support for new product development, customised vehicle bodies, and insulated container projects.

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications & Skills

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related discipline.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modelling and technical drafting.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings, dimensioning, and manufacturing documentation.
• Experience preparing and managing Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods, materials, and engineering principles.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
