Job summary

Yon Sang Builders Sdn Bhd is seeking a skilled Drafter to join our Design & Architecture team in Johor Bahru. This full-time role focuses on translating architectural concepts into precise drawings and documentation for construction projects.

You will work with architects, engineers and construction teams to ensure designs are accurately represented and ready for implementation, while maintaining project documentation and meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Architecture or related field is required.
• Must have strong attention to detail and accuracy in drawings and documentation.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed architectural drawings, plans, elevations and sections using CAD software.
• Convert sketches and specifications into accurate construction drawings and documents.
• Ensure drawings comply with building codes, standards and regulations in Malaysia.
• Assist in producing tender documents and construction specifications.
• Coordinate with architects and engineers to clarify design intent and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain and organize project documentation and drawing files.
• Prepare 2D and 3D visualisations to support design presentations.
• Review drawings for accuracy before submission.
• Support site visits and provide technical clarification during construction phases.

Yon Sang Builders Sdn Bhd is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Drafter to join our Design & Architecture team. This is a full-time position based in Johor Bahru, Johor. As a Drafter, you will play a crucial role in translating architectural concepts and designs into precise technical drawings and documentation. Your work will be fundamental to our construction projects, ensuring that all designs are accurately represented and ready for implementation. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse architectural projects whilst collaborating with experienced architects, engineers and construction teams.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed architectural drawings, plans, elevations and sections using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software
• Convert architect sketches and specifications into accurate technical drawings and construction documents
• Ensure all drawings comply with relevant building codes, standards and regulations
• Assist in the production of tender documents and construction specifications
• Coordinate with architects and engineers to clarify design intent and resolve drawing discrepancies
• Maintain updated project documentation and drawing files in organised systems
• Prepare 2D and 3D visualisations to support design presentations
• Review drawings for accuracy, completeness and consistency before submission
• Support site visits and provide technical clarification during construction phases as required

What we're looking for

• Diploma or degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering or a related field
• Minimum 2 years of experience in architectural drafting or a similar role
• Proficiency in CAD software, with AutoCAD being essential; experience with Revit or other BIM software is highly desirable
• Strong knowledge of architectural drawing standards, conventions and building codes in Malaysia
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical documentation
• Solid understanding of architectural design principles and construction methodologies
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
• Strong time management skills with the ability to meet project deadlines
• Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with various stakeholders
• Problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn new technologies and techniques
