Job summary

Lucent Diagnostics Sdn Bhd in Selangor seeks a Medical Officer (Health Screening) to deliver comprehensive primary care, including diagnosis, treatment and preventive health services in a busy clinic.

Must hold MBBS with valid Malaysian registration and 11–15 years post-graduate experience in general practice. Proficiency in English and Malay is essential; CPR certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent from an accredited medical school.
• Valid registration/licence to practise in Malaysia.
• 11–15 years of post-graduation clinical experience in general practice/primary care.
• Strong clinical knowledge and ability to manage common medical conditions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for diverse patients.
• Proficiency in English and Malay; additional languages are advantageous.
• Ability to manage multiple consultations in a busy clinic.
• Commitment to high standards of clinical care and patient safety.
• CPR certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Preference for candidates with chronic disease management/health screening experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary healthcare services including diagnosis, treatment and management of acute and chronic illnesses.
• Conduct thorough patient consultations, taking medical histories and performing physical examinations.
• Prescribe medications and treatments per clinical guidelines.
• Manage conditions such as hypertension, diabetes and respiratory infections.
• Perform preventive services including health screenings and vaccinations.
• Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with regulations.
• Refer patients to specialists and provide follow-up care.
• Collaborate with nursing staff for coordinated patient care.
• Contribute to development and implementation of clinical protocols and quality initiatives.
• Stay updated with medical knowledge through CPD and training.
• Conduct monthly awareness talks.

Job Description Medical Officer (Health Screening)

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary healthcare services including diagnosis, treatment and management of acute and chronic illnesses
• Conduct thorough patient consultations, taking detailed medical histories and performing physical examinations
• Prescribe appropriate medications and treatments in accordance with clinical guidelines and best practices
• Manage common medical conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, respiratory infections and other prevalent health issues
• Perform preventive healthcare services including health screenings, vaccinations and health promotion activities
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients in compliance with regulatory requirements
• Refer patients to specialist services when necessary and provide appropriate follow-up care
• Collaborate effectively with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care
• Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical protocols and quality improvement initiatives
• Stay current with medical knowledge through continuous professional development and participation in training programmes
• Conduct awareness talk monthly

What we're looking for

• Medical degree (Bachelor of Medicine or equivalent) from an accredited institution
• Valid registration and licence to practise as a Medical Officer / General Practitioner in Malaysia
• Minimum 11 Years to 15 Years of post-graduation clinical experience in general practice or primary healthcare settings
• Strong clinical knowledge and competency in managing common medical conditions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds
• Proficiency in English and Malay; additional language skills are advantageous
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy clinical environment and manage multiple patient consultations
• Strong attention to detail with meticulous record-keeping and documentation practices
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of clinical care and patient safety
• Valid CPR certification or willingness to obtain it
• Preference for candidates with experience in chronic disease management, health screening programmes or community health initiatives
