Job summary

Sunyo Technology (M) Sdn. Bhd. seeks an experienced Machining Procurement & Supplier Development professional to strengthen our supplier network and drive procurement excellence.

You will collaborate with Production, Quality and external suppliers to develop sourcing strategies, negotiate competitive terms, and continuously improve supplier performance, cost, delivery and quality across the supply chain.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a high-quality machining supplier network to support growth and supply continuity.
• Develop and execute supplier development and sourcing strategies aligned with production needs.
• Identify, evaluate, qualify, and develop new machining suppliers through audits and technical assessments.
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with key suppliers and drive improvements in quality, cost, delivery and service (QCDS).
• Develop procurement strategies for machining components, including supplier selection, sourcing, cost control, capacity planning and risk management.
• Lead price negotiations, quote reviews, cost analysis, and contract discussions to achieve favourable terms.
• Analyse cost structures to identify drivers and opportunities for cost reduction and cost optimisation.
• Lead cost-saving initiatives through new suppliers, alternative materials, process optimisation, localisation, and supplier consolidation.
• Monitor supplier performance and identify risks related to quality, delivery, capacity, financial stability and supply continuity.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Machining Procurement & Supplier Development professional to strengthen our supplier network and drive procurement excellence.

This role will play a key part in building a reliable, competitive, and high-quality machining supplier base, while driving cost optimization, supplier performance improvement, and supply chain risk management.

You will work closely with Production, Quality, and external suppliers to develop sourcing strategies, identify new suppliers, negotiate competitive commercial terms, and continuously improve supply chain performance.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain a high-quality, cost-effective machining supplier network to support business growth and ensure supply continuity.

Develop and execute supplier development and sourcing strategies aligned with business and production requirements.

Identify, evaluate, qualify, and develop new machining suppliers through supplier audits, technical assessments, capability reviews, and commercial evaluations.

Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers and drive continuous improvement in Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Service (QCDS).

Develop procurement strategies for machining components, including supplier selection, sourcing, cost control, capacity planning, and supply chain risk management.

Lead price negotiations, quotation reviews, cost analysis, and contract discussions to achieve competitive pricing and favourable commercial terms.

Analyze machining cost structures and identify key cost drivers and opportunities for cost reduction and cost optimisation.

Lead cost-saving initiatives through new suppliers, alternative materials, process optimisation, localisation, and supplier consolidation.

Monitor supplier performance and proactively identify potential risks related to quality, delivery, capacity, financial stability, raw material prices, and supply continuity.

Work cross-functionally with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to resolve supplier issues and improve overall supply chain efficiency.

What We're Looking For

Diploma / Associate Degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related discipline.

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in machining procurement, strategic sourcing, or supplier development.

Experience in precision machining / CNC machining is highly preferred.

Candidates from the Semiconductor, Aerospace, Precision Engineering, Automotive, or other high-tech manufacturing industries are strongly encouraged to apply.

Good understanding of machining processes, materials, manufacturing capabilities, and cost structures.

Strong experience in supplier sourcing, qualification, development, negotiation, and performance management.

Strong analytical and commercial mindset with the ability to identify cost drivers and cost-saving opportunities.

Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Strong awareness of cost, quality, delivery, and supply chain risks.

A proactive, hands-on, and results-oriented team player with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.

Bilingual in Chinese and English.
