Metropolitan College in Malaysia is seeking a Digital Learning and Technology Intern to assist with the administration, maintenance and improvement of the College's LMS, websites and other digital platforms.
You will gain hands-on Moodle administration, user support, content management, system testing and documentation while collaborating with academic and support teams to enhance the learning experience for students and lecturers.
The Digital Learning and Technology Intern will support the administration, maintenance and improvement of the College's Learning Management System, websites and other digital platforms.
This role provides practical exposure to Moodle administration, user support, content management, system testing, technical documentation and digital projects. The intern will work closely with the technical, academic and relevant support teams to improve the digital learning experience for students and lecturers.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and maintain LMS platforms such as Moodle, including course setup, enrolments, user access, learning resources and activities.
Provide basic LMS support and troubleshooting to students and lecturers, including resolving access issues and reporting technical problems.
Review and improve course content, gradebook settings, completion tracking and course organisation; maintain user guides, FAQs and SOPs.
2. Website and Technical Support
Maintain and update website and digital platform content, including basic HTML/CSS enhancements and content improvements.
Test and troubleshoot digital content, including webpages, forms, links and platform functions across desktop and mobile devices.
Support data and system processes, including CSV imports/exports, basic integrations and technical research for digital solutions.
3. Student Communications and Support Content
Prepare clear and engaging student communications, including announcements, platform notices and digital updates.
Develop student support materials such as guides, FAQs, troubleshooting instructions and onboarding resources.
Work with academic and support teams to ensure information is accurate, accessible and supports student engagement.
4. UI/UX and Digital Content
Improve the usability and appearance of digital platforms by reviewing navigation, accessibility and overall user experience.
Create basic visual and digital content using Canva or similar tools for websites, learning materials and student communications.
Maintain consistent branding and presentation across the College's digital platforms and communications.
5. Digital Projects, AI and Research
Support AI and digital initiatives, including chatbot content, knowledge bases and implementation of new digital tools.
Research and evaluate emerging technologies such as AI tools, educational technologies and new LMS features.
Assist with testing and digital transformation projects, while following data privacy, cybersecurity and responsible AI practices.
Job Requirements
Currently pursuing the final year of a Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Educational Technology, Digital Media or another related field.
Basic understanding of web technologies such as HTML and CSS.
Interest in Learning Management Systems, digital education and educational technologies.
Good written and spoken English. Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia will be an advantage.
Able to troubleshoot basic technical issues and explain solutions clearly.
Strong attention to detail, particularly when managing user information, course content and system settings.
Good communication, organisation and interpersonal skills.
