Job summary

Private Advertiser in Penang is establishing a NEW Engineering Design Centre and seeks experienced engineers for a non-manufacturing hub that serves as a major global services and design centre in the region. You will drive architecture and design of complex digital systems, work with MCU/MPU/FPGA/GPU, and lead SI/PI validation.

Proficiency in OrCAD, Cadence Concept/Allegro or Altium Designer is essential, with HDL/IP experience (VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog) a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
• 5+ years of multidisciplinary product design experience.
• Proficient in OrCAD, Cadence Concept/Allegro, or Altium Designer.
• HDL/IP experience with VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog is an advantage.
• Strong communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel internationally when required.
• Knowledge of EMC, safety and environmental compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive architecture, design and development of complex digital systems
• Work with MCU / MPU / FPGA / GPU, memory and storage interfaces
• Design and validate PCIe, Ethernet, USB, DDR, LVDS & SerDes interfaces
• Lead Signal & Power Integrity (SI/PI) simulation and validation
• Work with schematic/layout tools such as OrCAD, Cadence & Altium
• HDL/IP experience in VHDL, Verilog or SystemVerilog is an advantage

Ideal Requirement

• Bachelor’s/Master’s in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent
• Min 5 years’ experience in multidisciplinary product design
• Strong experience in digital circuit/system design and multiple product development cycles
• Proficient in OrCAD, Cadence Concept/Allegro or Altium Designer
• Knowledge of EMC, safety and environmental compliance
• HDL/IP experience with VHDL, Verilog or SystemVerilog is an advantage
• Strong communication, leadership and problem-solving skills
• Good English and willingness to travel internationally when required
