Job summary

TP is seeking a proactive Desktop Engineer to join our IT team in Kuala Lumpur. Immediate joiner preferred. The role covers desktop support, OS installation, and maintenance of IT equipment to ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations.

You will troubleshoot Windows systems, Office 365, and network access while delivering friendly customer service and timely solutions. On-site work at G-Tower, KL, is required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in IT/CS or related field is required.
• Experience in desktop support or IT helpdesk is preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line and second-line desktop support for PCs, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
• Install, configure and maintain Windows OS, software, and hardware.
• Diagnose, resolve hardware, software, network, and system issues.
• Troubleshoot Office 365, email, VPN, and user access problems.
• Set up workstations and user accounts for new staff.
• Perform routine maintenance and security patching.
• Manage IT tickets within SLAs and maintain records of assets and incidents.
• Escalate complex issues to appropriate IT teams as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first-line and second-line technical support for desktop computers, laptops, printers, and other IT peripherals.
• Install, configure, and maintain Windows operating systems, software applications, and hardware.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network connectivity, and system-related issues.
• Troubleshoot Microsoft Office 365, email, VPN, and user access issues.
• Set up workstations, user accounts, and IT equipment for new employees.
• Perform routine maintenance, software updates, and security patching.
• Manage and resolve IT support tickets within agreed service-level agreements (SLAs).
• Maintain accurate records of IT assets, incidents, and troubleshooting activities.
• Escalate complex technical issues to the relevant IT teams when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with IT policies, security standards, and operational procedures.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Previous experience in desktop support, IT helpdesk, or technical support is preferred.
• Good knowledge of Windows operating systems, computer hardware, and software troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365, Active Directory, and basic networking concepts.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple support requests.
• Willingness to work onsite at G-Tower, Kuala Lumpur, or Kelana Centre Point (KCP), Petaling Jaya.
