Job summary

TP is seeking a proactive Desktop Engineer in Kuala Lumpur to provide desktop support, maintain IT equipment, and ensure smooth day-to-day IT operations. Immediate joiners are preferred, and the role requires onsite work at G-Tower/Kelana Centre Point in the KL area.

You will troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues, assist new employees, and help keep IT systems secure and up to date. This is a hands-on, customer-focused role with SLAs to meet.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in IT/CS or related field.
• Experience in desktop support or helpdesk preferred.
• Familiarity with Windows OS, hardware, and software troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of Office 365, Active Directory, and basic networking.

Responsibilities

• Provide first- and second-line desktop support for PCs, printers, and peripherals.
• Install, configure, and maintain Windows OS, apps, and hardware.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and system issues.
• Troubleshoot Office 365, email, VPN, and user access.
• Set up workstations and IT equipment for new hires.
• Perform routine maintenance and security patching.
• Manage and close IT support tickets within SLAs.
• Keep records of IT assets, incidents, and troubleshooting.
• Escalate complex issues to appropriate IT teams.
• Ensure compliance with IT policies and security standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first-line and second-line technical support for desktop computers, laptops, printers, and other IT peripherals.
• Install, configure, and maintain Windows operating systems, software applications, and hardware.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network connectivity, and system-related issues.
• Troubleshoot Microsoft Office 365, email, VPN, and user access issues.
• Set up workstations, user accounts, and IT equipment for new employees.
• Perform routine maintenance, software updates, and security patching.
• Manage and resolve IT support tickets within agreed service-level agreements (SLAs).
• Maintain accurate records of IT assets, incidents, and troubleshooting activities.
• Escalate complex technical issues to the relevant IT teams when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with IT policies, security standards, and operational procedures.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Previous experience in desktop support, IT helpdesk, or technical support is preferred.
• Good knowledge of Windows operating systems, computer hardware, and software troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365, Active Directory, and basic networking concepts.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple support requests.
• Willingness to work onsite at G-Tower, Kuala Lumpur, or Kelana Centre Point (KCP), Petaling Jaya.
