Job summary

DF Automation & Robotics seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to take full ownership of mechanical design for next‑generation robotics hardware. You will apply first-principles thinking, lead design from concept to production, and collaborate with PCB, system, and QA teams to ensure robust, manufacturable solutions.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, 1–2 years of relevant experience, and proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia, with AutoCAD and SolidWorks as core

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical design from concept to production for robotics products.

• Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
• Apply FEA and other simulations to predict failures.
• Seek improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.

We are seeking an innovative Mechanical Design Engineer to take full mechanical ownership of our next-generation robotics and hardware products. Applying first-principles thinking and scientific methodologies, you will lead mechanical design from concept to production, working cross-functionally with PCB, System, and QA teams.

Job Description & Responsibilities:

• Apply first principles thinking and scientific methodologies to product design in order to identify risks and failure modes.
• Works in the new development of new products and fully owns the ownership of mechanical aspects for new and existing products.
• Work closely with multi-functional teams including the PCB development team, System development team, and Production and Quality Assurance team.
• Develop and design mechanical systems in accordance with mechanical system architecture, Design for Manufacturability(DFM), Design for Assembly(DFA), Statistical tolerance analysis techniques, functional dimensioning, and geometric tolerancing.
• Implement knowledge of finite element analysis theory and use statistical or simulation tools to predict failure in various scenarios.
• Increase efficiency, and reduce waste wherever and whenever possible.

Job & Skill Requirements:

• Candidates possess at least A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Having at least 1-2 years of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
• Required language (s): English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Required skill (s): AUTOCAD and Solidworks.
• Proficient in knowledge of GD&T.
• Agile / SCRUM Development Process experience.
